Traveling with young children and am looking for true beach front resort. Need sand for them to play in. We visited a resort like this when staying on Bonaire once before, but can't remember the name of it! It was two level town house style apartments/condos that had two bedrooms upstairs and the kitchen, living area downstairs. It was north of Kralendijk going up the coast as if towards the National Park. It wasn't too far out of town. We were there about 5 years ago and went to an outdoor concert held on the grounds. A group from Holland: Djink or somehting like that. Can anyone help us out with the name of the resort??
Thanks

Sounds more like Eden Beach Resort. They have a great sandy beach.

Hi Joan, check out the homepage of this site of Bonaire Webcams and click on ''all cams''; you;ll recognize Eden Beach immediately where you've seen the Dutch band De Dijk 5 years ago. We've just been at Eden Beach for the second time and had a great time, so enjoy your stay and your time on Bon.

Sounds like it could be Sand Dollar. Don't know about the concert part though. We just returned from a 2 week trip to Bonaire last week. We have been going to Bonaire since 1998 always stay at Sand Dollar and love it. This was the first time we took our two boys 10 and 12 and they now want to move to Bonaire. Both are certified divers and this was their first "dive trip".

Most of the resorts have photos of the beach at their resort so you can take a look for yourself. There are also several public beaches on Bonaire as well that are well worth the ride.

Check out the different websites for yourself, most of them have actual photos of their beach if they have one.

I would suggest the Divi, because in addition to a (small) sandy beach, it's a very easy entry for swimming for the little ones.

Joan, the Divi does have a very small beach, but it is not that soft white sugary/powdery sand...it is much darker and "heavier" so I don't know how much kids can really play in it. I do see kids there when we go down but if you are looking for the soft sand Divi does not have it. We do love the Divi beach tho! Carole

Joan -

Another place you might wish to consider is south of town about a mile, the Plaza Resort. It possibly has the largest amount of sand beach of any resort on the island and a lot of Dutch folks take their small children there. Plus which they have an active children's program. It is something to see all those young ones snorkeling with a chaperon and to hear at least four languages all at once!

Since you've been to Bonaire, you can identify with Carole B's comment that what sand there is is not powder-fine. But I would be the kids could care less once they get into it!

Buen viaje.

Hi,

I remember being at that concert! I don't remember the name of the resort, but if you go to http://www.edenbeach.com/ , it looks like the place to me.
