my father and i are planning a weeks' trip to bonaire at the end of august/ early September. i have read a lot of reviews and narrowed it down to divi, bel air, or the sand dollar. looks like prices are pretty comparable except divi's package have no truck with them. i imagine you need a truck to explore other sites. my dad is a rusty diver but i am quite experienced...we may want to try some other things like kitesurfing too so i'm sure if the unlimited diving packages are the best bet for us.

thanks!

It depends on what you want. BelMar is small only 22 units, on site dive shop but no restaurant or bar. Also does not have a beach only 2 docks to dive from.We have stayed at BelMar 2 times and love it because it is very quite. Divi and Sand$ are both larger with on site dive shop, restaurants, and bar. I believe they both also have small beaches. Have not stayed at either of them but I am sure others who have will chime in here and give you more info. Bonaire is great for a rusty diver because it is easy diving. Ya'll have fun!!

I am prejudice wouldn't stay any place else. Belmar might not have a resturant but right across the street is a hotel called the great escape that you can walk to that has a resturant and bar. Belmar has a staff that is the best. Not to mention Butchie who makes sure you get in safe and makes sure your stuff does not get stolen. Belmar will also let you do alacarte dives where you just tell them how many tanks you use.

We've been to Belmar twice and Sand Dollar once.

We will probably go back to Belmar sometime.

Mu wife and I have been to Bonaire 6 times in 4 years. For price and ease we like the Sand Dollar. We have stayed there three times, will be four at the end of September thru October for a couple of weeks. We usually invite several dive couples and the six of us stay in D20, we love the view. Easy access to most everything the island has available.
