About two weeks ago we checked on the availability of Crown Courts 44 for a specific time in May of 2006. It was available for the time we wanted. A week later when I tried to make my reservation, I was told by Josie that someone had an "option" on it until 4:00PM July 4, 2005 and I would be contacted then. I didn't receive an email so I emailed Josie and was told she emailed the other party and I would know first thing July 5, I didn't get an email so I emailed her and asked if we should look else where. No reply. What do you think is going on?

Give her a day or so, I found her to be very responsive and i doubt she is giving you the runaround, shes just waiting for a reply.

we booked from Sunrentals for August 2005. Josie was very helpful and did all her best to fulfill all our wishes. I cann't say anything bad about Sunrentals so far.

James,

Crown Courts 44a is VERY popular so it is entirely possible that someone is in the process of renting it.

Everyone at Sun Rentals has been very helpful to us the times we have rented from them but response may not be immediate due to them having to wait on responses from other people.

Belinda Z

James, I have dealt with Josie many times, and she is great, but sometimes e mail gets lost in the Caribbean Sea. I always use a return receipt in mailing the islands. And we are talking quite a bit in advance, you have to consider island time mentality.
Belinda is certainly correct, CC44 is a popular destination. And wouldn't you hope for some planning consideration if you were a return customer? I know I do!

Most of the responses I have received (both private and public) have been positive but not all. I am hoping for the best. The reservations are quite a bit in advance because there is only one week that we can all go together so that is why I am trying to lock the time and location down now. We have never been to Bonaire and are looking forward to a wonderful trip.

we also rented CC44 and were only able to because Belinda cancelled her reservation. While we were in the process of securing the reservation she already had two other parties waiting as well. She needed to know from us quickly if we were indeed going to rent it as otherwise it would go to one of the other two parties. It is a very popular rental.

Josie helpt us wonderfully, as did everybody at Sunrentals.

Update: I spoke with Josie today via the telephone and gave her my credit card number for the deposit on Crown Courts 44 for the dates we needed. Thanks to all who responded.

It is a popular rental....what would possibly be a good 2nd choice instead of Crown Courts 44?

We were also going to look at Casa Blanca and Casa Terrazza if it didn't work out with Crown Courts 44. We have never been to Bonaire so I don't have any first hand information.

I have just caught up on this particular stream of messages, and am interested because I have worked with Sun Rentals in reserving Casa Terraza at the end of November. Crown COurts 44 was also on my list, so will be eager to hear how you all like it. I am renting a truck through Sun Rentals, too. Anyone have a perspective on vehicle rental from them? I worked with a woman named Priscilla at Sun Rentals, and she has been VERY helpful and accommodating both for the house rental and the truck rental This will be my first trip to Bonaire, and I will be getting my open water certification there through Buddy Dive. Just completed my confined water course last week-end, and I can't wait! In the meantime, I have been surfing various of these message boards for advice, restaurant recommendations, dive recommendations, etc.

Steve, I wish I could be more help. Our reservation is for next May and I have never been to Bonaire either. We are also planning to have Sunrentals arrange our automobiles but haven't done so yet.

Steve, we have been going to Bonaire since '03 and have made 5 trips to Bonaire to date (6th trip in Oct.). We stay with Jose and Muys at Sun Ocean Front Apts. and they are absolutely great. We have our favorite places to eat at night since we dive all day! We usually eat late 8:30-9:00 because we usually do a dusk dive or early night dive. These places are very consistent and GOOD...Donna & Georgio's, The Garden Cafe, Pasa Bon Pizza. We have been to Lucille's & Capriccio once each and they were great!!!! The Kon Tiki is great for lunch, when we do not eat on the back of our pick up! :-) The food & the people at the above resturants are just great!!!! We love Bonaire and the people we have met there very much. We plan to buy a condo on Bonaire soon. The diving is the best....the freedom of the diving is wonderful. We go to Cayman Brac, Bahamas, Cozumel and other places that are great....but we ALWAYS come back to our beloved Bonaire!...there is nothing in the world like Bonaire!!! You will have a great diving vacation!!! (Also plan to go to the Rose Inn in Rincon...it is worth it.
Donna G.

Donna -- Many thanks for the tips! I am getting hungry already. Can't wait to do my first diving outside of a swimming pool, and it is once again reinforced that I picked a good place to do it! And reading all of the posts on this message board in the various sub-topics validates your statement about the good people I am likely to meet there. Hope you all have a great time on your next trip to Bonaire.

Steve
