My wife and I will be going to Bonair in late February 2006 and on to Aruba the first week in March (our friends have a timeshare in Aruba). My wife and I are divers and our friends are snorklers. Any suggestions for a two bedroom place on the water? What should we expect to pay? We don't have kids, so probably would prefer a place without a lot of families.
Thanks.

February probably won't yield a lot of families. Most kids are in school until Spring Break (April). We usually stay at Captain Don's in April and again in Sept. and not that often do we see entire families with children. Most are adult divers, some Dive Shops, couples, and some singles. It is also a nice place for food and atmosphere. But then again many resorts have similar amenities.

I would suggest you check with Bert at Bonaire Partners. They do a great job all the way around and have several accommodations that would be ideal for what you are looking for. Enjoy.

Hi Jay

We stayed at the Sand Dollar last February and will be at Capt. Don's in October...Eden Beach, SD, Buddy's and Capt Don's are next to each other and all seem capable...Buddy's and Capt Don's have better restaurants (my opinion)

Check out the website for SunOceanfront Apartments - walking distance to most of the good restaurants, across the street from the water, own dive shop, secure parking - and seldom have we see kids there - reasonable prices, nice managers.

Loved Belmar--the pool, dock, nice reef 30-40 meters off the dock, and beautiful west-facing porches. Octopus under the dock was also a nice plus!
