Hi Robert,

The noise thing at Hamlet was hashed out here several months ago. We stayed at Hamlet last Sept. and are staying there again in a couple weeks.

Just returned from Happy Holiday Homes. Really liked it because of how easy it is to wash and maintain dive gear at the unit. There is a hose, 2 barrells, hanging pegs and some concrete slabs on which to clean gear. It's set up perfectly for shore diving in my opinion. Be advised that use of the air conditioner during the day is not looked upon as acceptable. There were several ceiling fans in the unit and with the back door open and the fans on it wasn't too bad although I wouldn't call it cool. The ceiling fan in our living room area was fairly slow so it didn't put out much breeze. We didn't have hot water but we quickly learned this really didn't matter because the unit was warm enough during the day to make a cool shower after our dives and before going out to dinner just the ticket. I asked them to fix the hot water but nothing really happened. I let go because as I said before it really didn't end up being an issure except when wanting to wash dishes - we didn't dirty up that many dishes anyway. My wife and I already have decided that when it is just her and I on the island we plan on staying at HHH again primarily because of the gear cleaning area and the decent size of the unit and of course the decent price. Oh yeah, we felt safe at HHH because the front and back patio lights stayed on all night and there was a night security guard on duty from midnight to whenever. Also, there are clothes lines on the back patio to hang wet gear and clothing.

We have always stayed at HHH and really like it. They can set you up with a truck (Budget this year) and a discount with a dive shop (I'm not sure which one). The truck rental was less than what was listed on the Budget web site.

And, we would agree with everything Marcus said. We usually eat in quite a bit and the kitchen is nice. Everything you might want.

HTH - Bea
