Can anyone offer any experience or information regarding the 'Bonaire Exclusive Bungalows' park and it's units? Their web site says they are in a private park and within walking distance of the promenade. A friend and I are planning on spending two weeks in Bonaire in November. Plan on diving through Yellow Submarine - any comments about them? THANKS ALL.

Sharon, we have never stayed there but it is quite far from the sea. The Park is just an area inland. We drove through the area in the past and thought they looked nice but too secluded for us. We like to meet and talk with other divers and be close to the water. They advertize 500mm to the diveshop and that is almost 1/3mile from north of the Promenade. Are you going to have a truck? A vehicle is a must for shorediving and sight seing. Yellow Submarine is a good shop. Have heard no complaints over the years. You are about to discover the secret of the Divers Paridise and I will guarantee you will return.. Check out this site.. http://www.shorediving.com/ Ron

Hi Sharon,

I stayed there at #33 and the house was o.k., nothing extravagant, had some holes in the screens in the windows, duct tape works great, but it was clean, nice porch area, the only hang up was that the sliding doors did not have screens and after 4:00 we had to close up and turn air on or get eaten alive by mosquitos. We had left some bathing suits outside and when I went back out, someone had taken my husband's cheap bathing suit and Hanes t-shirt, but left my $80.00 swimsuit. Go figure! Obviously, they took what they needed to wear! Some of the homes are very nice, it depends on what unit you are looking at. There is a community pool, small one, but it is about 4 and half foot deep maybe 5 ft. in the one end. They were redoing that when we were there. The last time we stayed there, the house behind us had an attempted break-in in the middle of the night. You might want to see if they have security now. And Ron is right, you will need a car if staying there. You can walk into town if you so choose, it is not far, less than a mile. Yellow Submarine is great for your diving needs. They have since merged with Photo Tours and are the same now. Really nice house reef, enjoy your visit. If you know the exact unit, maybe I can help you with how it is. Feel free to email me if you like. The neighborhood was kept very well. The tropical flamingo grocery store is also within walking distance before town. Very nice people run that store. I forget their names now. You can also walk to Bobby Jans for ribs and chix. or any restaurants in town area. Debbie :-)

Stayed there last year in 12 &13. Really nice places. These had heavy bars on the windows and doors - don't think that a breakin would be very productive. Only thing was that there is no HOT water. It was warm from solar heat, but not hot. They are easily close enough to walk safely to several places for supper. Wouldn't try carry dive gear to the water. Had a truck and wasn't 3 min to Yellow Sub. Yes we had good service from them as well.
