I am trying to arrange a trip to bonaire for about 6 people. We are thinking about January 1st to the 8th or 4th through the 11th. I was wondering the best place to stay and keep the cost to the minimum.

thanks

eric

Eric, Check out www.infobonaire.com there is a world of information there from diving, accommodation, to dinning and everything in between. You can be as expensive as you want to as frugal as you want. Renting a condo with a kitchen will probably be the best for you.
Enjoy Bonaire... Andy

We were in Bonaire January 2004 and it was great. Not a lot of people at the resort though. It must be one of the slower months. We stayed at the Sand $ as we had in the past. The only real problem was that it rained almost every night a little and the mosquitoes were bad at night.
If you want to save some $ try staying off the water. It is not as convenient, but it is less expensive in most cases.

Hi Eric
If you are ok in staying somewhere else than a resort, I think you may enjoy renting a house or apartment which accommodates the six of you. There are several options for doing your research, including the one mentioned above and, of course, look at the threads on this site. We have stayed at CocoPalmGarden several times and were always very happy; loved the quiet, the gardens and the colours. Coco Palm lets several houses, apartments and studios, the latter of which are in small houses, i.e. you could rent a house that way, too. Have a look at their website or email Brigitte, Marion, Nikki directly.

Eric

If you can get to Bonaire on the 31st, the fireworks at midnight are fantastic. You won't be able to miss them! Most large hotels and many smaller ones put on displays.
