Can't control my enthusiasm! Had two major highs this week. Made my final payment to Eden Beach for a ten day stay in July! This will by our second stay at Eden. And, made it through surgery, so I can be fully recovered and in the best shape of my life for that July dive/stay! (I'm sitting here typing with 34 staples in my belly)
My surgeon is a diver (I'd have no other) so I knew I was in good hands and can trust him when he says I'm medically ready to dive again. Which I will be in April/May. That will give us time for a couple of tune up dives here in Lake Mead and a short (weekend) trip to either San Diego or Catalina Island before we hit Bonaire! Come on Summer!!!!(think I just popped a staple)

Even if you did pop one, you've got 33 left! Have a great trip. Catalina is a favorite for me. Try the Casino Point park; easy and great diving.

Rich,
We will be enjoying our first stay at Eden Beach next month (April), any suggestions or recommendations about Eden Beach. This is our third trip to Bonaire. Can you possibly give any information about the two bedroom apartments?

Robert

Robert,
Eden Beach is the best kept secret in Bonaire (in my opinion)! The 2 bedrooms are pretty spacious for the island. You walk in the sliding glass door into a living room that has a couch, table and chairs, tv mounted up on the wall. A small full kitchen ( a breakfast bar w/2 stools seperates these two rooms)is next. Kitchen has a full size fridge, stove, some cabinets, sink, etc.
There is a tiny bathroom downstairs also. From the kitchen are stairs which take you up to the two bedrooms and the upstairs bathrooms. Their is a master bedroom with a bathroom and a bathroom between the two bedrooms which services the second bedroom. The rooms are very big. The master has a queen (I Think) and two singles in the smaller room.
Tips: Fill the water pitcher with tap water and keep it cool in the fridge. The water from the tap is sweet!
Bring plenty of the heaviest duty skeeter repellant you can find. The dive locker area is infested w/skeeters.
Do not leave your doors or windows open due to the bad skeeters (they'll follow you in).
Are you guys diving?
If your shower won't heat up, ask Domingo to turn the water heater on.

Robert, Rich is right, this place is a jewel. His other recommendations are right on as well. I have never heard a valid complaint about the resort, beach bar or dive operation located there.

Visit: http://www.edenbeach.com/sleeping.html scroll over the small photos on the bottom and you will see what the master bedroom, master bathroom and general living area look like.

The on site dive operation is .... well you will see why Wally and Eva, Rich, a whole bunch of others and I dive with them time and again. Plus Bongo's is a real nice beach bar with good food at a reasonable price.

Now once you return from your fun filled vacation, keep quiet about how much you enjoyed your stay or there might not be available apartments when you want to return:-{)}

Rich and Tom,
Thanks for the info. I did a lot of checking before choosing Eden Beach this time. I just couldn't find much information about the actual apartments. The pictures on the Eden Beach website help, but did not provide the information that I was looking for. I am very glad to hear that there is a small bathroom downstairs. My wife is currently having some difficulties with multiple trips up and down stairs. There is a group of eight of us staying there this time and I think we will have a terrific time. It is exactly what we are looking for.

As I mentioned before, this will be our third trip, second since September.

36 days!!!!!!

Robert

Robert,
I assumed Wally would be lurking...so I must confess, the hot water tip came directly from him after I spent a week with cold water in one shower.

Actually, I think the couch downstairs may also be a sleeper couch. So she may not have to go upstairs at all, but to shower.
