We had tentatively planned to stay at Hamlet Oasis until I read the thread about the noise issue. I also have a competitive quote from Lagoen Hill (about 850.00 including taxes for 10 days 11 nights). Anyone ever stayed there. Thanks alot. We aren't divers, but we love to snorkel. Our previous experience is Cruz Bay on St. John USVI and Tobacco Caye in Belize. We don't require luxury, just a clean place with hot showers and a/c. We also understand that renting a vehicle is a must. thanks.

I've stayed at Hamlet Oasis and the place is fine. As to noise, I never noticed it. The pool is a nice touch after a day in the ocean. The units also have room safes, which I consider a plus.

We stayed at Hamlet last year and may stay there again this year. Very nice place and pool for the price, noise was not a problem. Water is about 50 yds. away.

Hi Dennis,

I haven't stayed at Hamlet, but have been there and at Lagoen Hill. I would suggest that Hamlet would be good for you. I haven't heard of any "noise" being a problem and have seen many trip reports of beautiful pics from Hamlet. And to be able to jump into the water to see the fish is a plus. At Lagoen, you have to drive a bit to get to water and everything. Just my two cents.

Been to Lagoen Hill twice - 2 weeks April 2004 and 2 weeks August 2004. Loved both stays and both units we stayed at. What unit are you being quoted?

The drive is long enough to worry about, the island just isn't that big. Our quote also included truck rental from AB and they were very helpful as well.

Monique and Julio were just awesome, can't say enough good things about them.

In an effort to be fair and balanced, be sure to search for older 2004 posts regarding some guests' unfortunate experiences at LH.

Thanks everyone for your input. We have made a command decision to stay at the Hamlet Oasis. I'm getting the idea that the noise won't be a problem. I'll post on here when we get back. Thanks again to evryone.
