Anyone staying there can you tell me if the balconies or patios are screened in? Since we have been reading about the mosquitoes we are hoping they are screened. Also do all the units have A/C or ceiling fans? Since we will be keeping doors & windows closed if the pesky little critters are out in force.

The balconies/porches are not screened in. The sliding door to it is screened in-unless something has changed in the last couple of years.

The living areas have fans but you can have the screen doors shut and the sliding doors open. We used citronella candles on the porch in the evening, they worked much better than I expected.Bedrooms have AC.

Thanks everyone for the info. I will definately be taking the Deet and mosquito netting. Has this just been a very bad year for the mosquitos because of all the rain Bonaire has had or are they always this bad? I would have thought since Bonaire is so arrid and dry (usually) that they would not be such a problem.

The rainy season does bring out the mosquitos, esp during dawn and dusk. From what I have read and experienced they should be much better now. Take some bug repellent and use it and you should be alright.
