The Aruba forum has an active trade in private rentals of timeshares. I just booked a week in Aruba. I see that there ARE some timeshares on Bonaire. Is there a site where posts are made? We are looking to rent a 1-bedroom for Week 29 (July 16-23 or so).

I think there are only two places that have timeshares. One is the Divi and I don't remember the other one.

The other was Lions Dive, but since Buddy Dive bought them, I don't know what is up with them.

We have 2 weeks at Divia nd have 2 different contracts. When they were first for sale they offered some with any time weeks and other that you had to pay maint. and use or "bank". I'm sure there are othe contracts too.Divi also has a inter-trade thing. The hoetel also rents them out. Maybe that explains why there is no timeshare rent sites.
There are a total of 40 unitis half of them on the second floor. They are built around a pool and patio overlooking the carribean.
The Divi timeshare are ONLY studios, the kitchens are small but complete. The bathrooms have a toliet and a shower with barely enough room to close the door. There is a room screen separeting the sleeping area. It has 2 double beds and a pull out coach(sleeps 6 T.)a tv and a telephone and a screened -in patio. The property and rooms have been upgrraded recently. It is not "fancy" like the timeshares in St. Martin or Aruba.I tell you this so you know what to exspect.I have heard people exspecting more and are disappointed.
It does have: Great diving!
Divi is one one of the best reefs on Bonaire, They have a great dive shop and staff and 5 or 6 boats.
There are 2 resturants 2 pools, a small beach, tanning piers hammocks and swings under the palm trees, a gift and proprovision shop. There is a car rental and a beauty shop and a "barefoot"casino. It has a friendly staff and security. It is a short walk to town and central to many locations.
We have used our weeks every year, with the exception of one, and love coming back to our "piece" of Bonaire.
