Hi there,

Has anyone stayed at the Coco Palm Garden Apartments? I'm looking to come down to do some windsurfing with my wife and two young kids (7 mo and 2) and am looking for a relatively affordable place that is close to windsurfing, but also nice for the family for when I'm out and the kids need to nap, etc. Anyone stayed there that has an opinion?

Thanks in advance, Matt

Hi Matt and welcome!
My husband and I have stayed at Coco Palm Garden's Apartments on several occasions. At their website, you can view the different apartments on offer. Generally, all are quiet, nicely decorated, well equipped and have lovely gardens. Located at Belnem, the apartments are close to Lac Bay for windsurfing and only a short drive to Kralendijk.
You could also use the search function for previous threads at the board!
Enjoy,
Heike

We just returned from a week at Coco Palm. The apartments are adequate, nothing more. They are relatively inexpensive, but are very basic. We probably will not stay there again.

Matt,
CocoPalm is clean, simple, bright and cheerful. If you want TV, stereo & the Hilton it's not for you. But if you enjoy reading from the front porch hammock while watching local birds & cooking some of your own meals in the simple but adequately equipped kitchen - it's great. The ladies are helpful & fun. Each to his/her own!
Louise

best price on Bonaire for a unit w/kitchen. only place less is friars inn(room only! everything else extra)This will be our 4th year there and its always great!windsurfing a straight shot east on the road in front of office(10 min)If you want resort w/casino and much higher expense try the divi-divi or the dive resorts towards town area.

Looking forward to our third trip and second time staying at Coco Palm. The apartments are lovely.
Clean and nicely decorated.
Quiet location with lovely grounds and gardens.
The office area has a pool and a TV if you need to catch up on the world events. Otherwise it is a wonderful location to just relax. Only 7 days and counting.

After all my questions about Hamlet Oasis, and initial decision to stay at Hamlet, we've decide to stay at Coco Palm. A week without TV will be a blessing. We're really excited and their vehicle rental rates are also very good. We're staying in a Coco Loco studio.

good decision!
we have been coco loco, this year( all of March)
we are in their casa oleander area... anywhere is good there! you will like the straight shot to windsurfing and the really short walk to Bachelors beach.

Hi Matt,
I just saw your post. We've been to Bonaire twice (2000 & 2002), stayed at Coco Palm both times and really loved it.
Coco Palm is in Belnam and is a straight shot down the road to Lac Bay. You are under the approach to the airport, but air traffic is infrequent. These rooms have the basics with no frills (no TV or phone). Brigitte or Richard are more than willing to take phone messages if someone calls for you.
The rooms are clean with basic amenities provided: The wall kitchenette has a stove, fridge and the basic utensils, plates & cookware. You'll have to bring or buy your own supplies like a sponge & dish soap.

The bathrooms are clean, and they'll provide a few beach towels for you.
In the main office area, you can use the pool & lounge area (complete with a paperback lending library).
If you like having nearly complete privacy, a hammock to snooze on, and few worldly distractions, this is the place for you. If you want the Hilton with full service, phones, TV, daily (wasteful) towel service (and to pay resort prices), go someplace else.
Marion, Brigitte & Richard are really helpful, and will mostly respect your privacy. If you want their help, seek them out, and they are very gracious.

I hope you enjoy your stay.
Michelle

Oh, I forgot to mention that the gardens are to die for and the rooms are just lovely.

See you soon Marion & Brig!!!!!!
