Bon dia!

My girlfriend and I are considering returning to Bonaire (for our second trip) February 12-19, 2005. We stayed at the Divi last time and loved it. However, this time the Divi does not have a studio available and we really liked having a kitchen. Any suggestions for other properties (1) offering studio accomodations with kitchens, (2) within walking distance of Kralendijk, (3) with amenities similar to the Divi?

Many thanks in advance!

Matt

Matt, have you considered the Carib Inn? It's right next door to the Dive. It's small, has waterfront rooms available, has a pool, has a small BBQ area out by the water to cook dinner, the staff is great and has been there for years.

I have stayed there several times and they have different kinds of rooms available. They do not have their own restaurant and bar - but you will save money on drinking your own Amstel anyway. Check them out at the below links. Happy hunting.

Check out Golden Reef Inn http://www.goldenreefinn.com/ - Liz might have something available. A bit too far to walk to town but you can probably rent a car for what you save over staying at Divi. Good Luck & Enjoy!

Sand Dollar Condo Resort may be a little quieter than what you're looking for. But they do have studio units and they are nicely equipped. If you dive, Bonaire Dive and Adventure is on-site and full-service. We like it because of the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. It would be a pretty good walk to town - depending on your fitness level.

Check out Bonaire Town Homes -- they may have a small, but lovely, bungalow available.

PS I'll be there with them from Feb 15 to March 30 (our sixth stay there)

I believe there are some pictures on their website www.goldenreefinn.com. To find them, they are located in Hato - Head north out of town past Buddy Dive, Lions Dive, Capt. Don's. Make right at Curoil (on right), second left to end, they are on the right.

Coco Palms, on the Sorobon road, has very nice studios for a lot less than Divi. That water view is expensive, tho nice.

Herman - I see you finally made it by there!!

The main building has 3 studies - 2 in the front and 2 in the back. the first 2 pics are the front and the last is the back.

The building off the the right in Herman's last picture is the villa and is part of the Inn - is has 2 rooms and a bathroom and I think sleeps 4 - their website will give you the details.

Did you stay at the Inn or somewhere else? Are you going back in February/March? I think my next time back will be October - though Dirk is now starting to get the bug to go back sooner.

May do the meeting on the 19th email who all may be there and what I should bring- are going to the oyster roast this Friday night?

A buddy and myself stayed at the in the first of Dec. I am in the process of looking for somewhere to go in the Feb/March time frame but as yet have not made up my mind but it looks like Coz or Bon (most likely Bon).
You need to get on the list if you want to be emailed about the meeting but you are sure welcome to come, anyone is. Bring your camera and dive gear. We will do a dive in the pool, take pictures of Dave's artificial reef and later talk about the pictures.
I am planning to be at the oyster roast.
