We are looking for a tiny little slice of gilligan's island/swiss family robinson/robinson crusoe like experience on Bonaire. Although we'd like to dive (correction - one of us dives, the other snorkels) we are fine with up to a 20 minute ride to another resort to do the dives.

In the past we've found amazing places in Placencia, Belize and Thailand and India.

Does a place like this exist on Bonaire or is it well past that point in time?

Barbuda is your ticket. North Beach and a few more low key remote hideaways..if you need info, email me at:

I would think the North of Bonaire, including the Park would be an excellent place! Quiet, the majority of dive sites are usually quiet, with little to no divers around. The north and west sides of the park are great too! I think so with the old ruins around the dive site, etc. The south side is also remote. Most of the diving on Bonaire is NOT done from the resorts, but from the entire west coast. Oh also there are a few sites to dive on the east coast. What about taking a water taxi over to Klein (totally uninhibited) and doing some amazing snorkeling and picnic...talk about Robinson Crusoe!!!
