Welcome, Chris! I was under the impression the "noise"/construction at the Divi casino was mostly done...the jackhammering, at least. If you would be on the "hotel" side at the Divi in a Deluxe room overlooking the water you would not hear any noise, anyway. Divi has a small, intimate beach with super easy walk-in access and some of the best snorkeling on Bonaire! Has two pools and two restaurants, spa, mini mart and much more. Cable tv to an extent and in-house movie channels, too. I don't know if LionsDive has an actual beach or not. You might want to find out if the Divi is "quieter" now and if so, go with the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort. We absolutely love it there.

Does anyone know the status at the Divi this week as far as the "noise" goes??

Good luck, Chris and keep us posted as to where you do end up. Have a wonderful time and snorkel up a storm! Ayo. Carole

Lion's Dive is a nice resort. You should be happy there.

Hotels.com is a third party merchant and they cannot guarantee ANY special request. So email Lion's direct or call them with your special request mentioning your husband not being able to walk far. Most resorts will do what they can to accommodate any special needs.

Thanks, Cynde..... :-):-)

Truthfully, though, Third Party Merchants do NOT always pass on special requests. I have been on the phone today with Travelnow trying to figure out a reservation for the Winter X Games.

Linda, are the Winter X Games going to be in Glenwood Springs?

No, The X Games are in Aspen for the third year..actually Buttermilk. We get a lot of overflow from Aspen plus the kids that don't want to pay the big $$$ to stay in Aspen. The X Games are free and always a treat. Our schools even take "field trips" to the Games! :-) This year it is the last weekend in January, in case anyone wants to plan a trip to Colorado.

Odd way of writing. No greeting or hello. Sounds like giving orders not like asking questions. Truncated sentences hard to read. No flow in paragraph. Browse old reports. Detailed info there. Coach Izzy

Linda, I learned to ski at Buttermilk when I was 12! I can see why folks don't want to pay the big bucks to stay at Aspen.

Izzy, I think sometimes folks are not used to posting messages on forums, and maybe a little nervous about doing so...may be a reason for the type of message, or maybe Chris was short on time and wanted to make it quick, or maybe English is not her native language...just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt here:-)

Chris, please let us know how it works out for you:-)

So Coach - Should we have a new rule here - if you can't speak or write perfect English, you can't post. I think your post was down right rude. (Cynde is much nicer than me!)

Ahh Cynde, you are such a nice person! Gail, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect it. First impressions do count. Chris's rubbed me the wrong way. It does sound like the people I run into everyday. Expecting to have everything handed to them while making the least amount of effort to get it themselves. A wealth of info is there. Do your homework and browse, and if you are going to ask, ask nicely. I do not think I'm rude. I simply reciprocate. I just give back what I receive (or perceive I do). I may be wrong. Then again, this forum is open to discussion and we'll hear things that will not please us. What's perceived as rude or not is purely subjective and personal. As long as there are no insults, or derogatory remarks, we are all cool. That's the beauty of BT! Good Health to you all. Coach Izzy

sorry I bothered you I will "do my own searches" since I wouldnt want to bother his highness Coach. Maybe he meets rude people all the time cause he gives off rude vibs himself.Frankly I cant believe he even said anything. I said I was new and also had only 9 hours before I had to cancel the room or keep it. That was the reason for ..forget it its not worth defending myself. For those of you who did write me info thankyou.

Do we now have to have a monitor of posting etiquette ... spell check, proper writing and language usage techniques? What a shame. An individual reaches out to what is generally a nice group of people around the world who all share an interest in diving and/or snorkeling in Bonaire and gets slammed. That is what I call rude, (not perceived, actual).

And, as far as telling her to do a search before asking a question ... Chris had good reason to ask first, and why not ask for up to date opinions and facts instead of doing a search. I believe this is a discussion site, not a library.

'nuff said :-)

chris, ...you aren't "bothering us." If we know the answer, we can tell you, or point you in the right direction. Please have a great time on Bonaire, and let us know how your trip was when you get back.
