My Mom and I are traveling to Bonaire for the first time. We are both avid scuba divers. Which would you recommend: Hamlet Oasis Seaside Apartments oceanfront or Dive Inn seaside studio?
Thanks for your help,

Debbie

both should be equal as far as diving ....assuming you are shore diving... however, Dive Inn is walking distance to downtown including restaurants and shops

You have to drive everywhere from Hamlet

Thanks Greg.

Other questions..which one has the better dive shop? Also, are the accommodations about equal? We are interested in clean and cool and on the beach.

Debbie,
Being an owner at Hamlet Oasis,I wasn't aware that the Hamlet Oasis apartments are considered beachfront. Youu can email me directly and I can answer any questions.

Debbie,

there are virtually no beaches in Bonaire...the shores are mostly lined with rock/rubble. The Dive Inn is across the street from the water but you would swim from their pier (no beach). Jan would be the expert on Hamlet but my recollection is that the units are several hundred yards from the water. PhotoTours dive shop services the Hamlet area with a satellite operation. They are fine. However, this is strictly shore diving (from Hamlet). Phototours does have boat diving but they leave from their primary location at Caribbean Courts (several miles away). Dive Inn has their own dive shop on site and operates their own dive boat from their dock.

Debbie,
I could be wrong..... but I think Hamlet Oasis and Hamlet Oasis Seaside are operated by two separate companies.
Seaside is not facing the water but you can see the water from the front porch of the apartment. Seaside is about 50-75 yards from the ocean and I think Bonaire Partners is the rental agency.

Debbie I just spent a week at the Dive Inn in a studio. Email me with specific questions and details of what you want to do and I'll give you my honest opinion and facts as best I can.

For example; are you expecting to be directly on the water? Are you planning to do boat dives with them or all shore dives or what? Will you be renting a vehicle? Denise

Hamlet Oasis cottages ( which are very nice!)begin where Captain Don's Habitat's property ends. Naturally the Habitat resort is for people vacationing at their property but I'm sure you could use their dive headquarters instead of Photo Tours. That way you would have easy access to their dive docks, dive school, boats etc. But please write them first in case I'm assuming too much.
Don's also has an excellent restaurant.
Why not check out Don's as well as the Hamlet Oasis

Regards
Carter

Debbie,
Being an owner of one of the Hamlet Oasis Seaside apartments, i can tell you that we have ocean view from our porches and you can also see klein bonaire.
The divesite "Cliff" is just 50m away from the porch.

Dive operator on Hamlet Oasis is Phototours.

Debbie, both are OK the dive inn is smaller than the hamlet but I think the dive inn is a good option if you don`t rent a car. and is only 5 minutes walking distance to downtown, shops, supermarket, and the dive shop is ok, the front beach (cha.cha.cha) is good for swimming,
