In the process of booking to go to Bonaire. Liked the look of a private villa in Belnam, but had very little info back from owner is this normal for Bonaire? Used to renting in Florida where you get pages of info of what's included etc.
Asked owner for their literature but they said they did not have any feel free to ask questions - but don't like to ask endless questions -it looks really nice but I we do not even know where Belnam is. Plus after reading some posts on security is a private villa a good idea. Saved long and hard for this diving trip want somewhere peaceful and quiet. Would appreciate more experienced travellers to Bonaire's comments on best places to stay.

Vicky:

There is a plethora of information, and even more recommendations, in the Accomodation thread's archives. If you're looking for information on a specific location, kick the keyword search into gear at the bottom of this screen.

I think you'll find that many of your questions are already answered.

Vicky..I for one would not rent a private villa unless..
1. You've investigated it's past history with respect to any vandalism, break ins etc..Some are worse than others.
2. It has a security system
3. It has a safe for your valuables.
4. I'd also like to have a security guard patrol the area.
Just my 2 cents.. This is a PERSONAL choice.

Vince, Excellent suggestions! I would also ask for phone services, and how easily the owner can be reached in case of problems. Coach Izzy

Vicky, I don't know what your budget is, but Harbour Village (Beachfront suites) give you lots of privacy and quiet. The rooms are big. The resort is gated with 24 hour security. It is a small "boutique" type resort, spread out. Beautiful beach, pool and a great dive shop. If the beachfront is out of your price range, the marina rooms have a nice view but you must specify a balcony or patio and a refrigerator.
