Eighth trip to Bonaire over 14 years. First trip to the Plaza Resort.

My impressions: very pretty place with thousands of flowering trees, plants and shrubs. Rooms are very clean and well-equipped (we had a two bedroom with living room and kitchen as well as two baths.

Beach area the best in Bonaire. It was being refreshed during our stay with loads of nice sand.

Restaurants: nasty. Skip em all

Casino: dead but friendly. $2 blackjack and nickel slots.

Diving: the shop is well-run but a very long walk from the shore diving entrance at the resort. Staff was less than available to ride divers over to the dive entry site. Tanks available on the beach, but you need to get your gear there.

Boat dives well-run, prompt, with competant staff. Camera rinse, oxygen, drinking water, VHF radio and shade. Prices fair ($18 for a one tank dive with purchase of the shore package at $20 per day). Boat dives were a nice break from the shore dive routine with a nice easy entry off the swim platform.

Random: staff helpful, place looks good, check-in and check out efficient--satellite TV with about 25 stations.

Importantly, price MUCH less than Habitat (at least in the configuration we needed.) Habitat is of course, better organized for diving, but it's a dump. Not only that, but to discourage out of resort divers from walking in the water on their pier, Habitat asked us for $115 to let us use our tanks, etc. to jump off their pier.

Sand Dollar still has no pier but has approvals.

Harbour Village is closed.

Buddy Dive is spare but adequate and well set up for loading tanks for shore dives.

Flamingo has just opened renovated sections. Did not get a chance to see.

Agreed. Great place to stay and dive. We probably walked right by you a few times.. All the staff there was excellent and very friendly.

Tipsy Segull was an excellent dinning experience for us.
