Does anyone know of a place in Bonaire that is just a "sleeping room'? We are looking for an inexpensive place to spend two extra nights we werent expecting.

The Friar's Inn (now called Hotel-Bonaire Inn) and at http://www.friarsinn.com/ is the cheapest place I am aware of. I have no first hand knowledge of the place (other than what one sees when driving past).

There are lots of other options at the $60-$75 range (Yacht Club, Aqua Viva, Happy Holiday, Coco Palm, etc., etc.) -- many of which would include a kitchenette.

Meridith, check out

http://www.infobonaire.com/hotelbudget.html

There are also properties which are $50.00 per night (2 people)

Two that come to mind are, Hotel Rochaline and WannaDive Hut, I have toured and am staying at WDH in October.

Good luck.

You can also check out Golden Reef Inn, I think the rates are pretty good. www.goldenreefinn.com

The Golden Reef had an ad in the last Bonaire Reporter, that said $48.00 a nite plus taxes. We walked by there as we were staying a couple of blocks away at Black Durgon Inn on the water. It looked as though there are 2 or 3 apartments at the Golden Reef. It looked like it would be fine.

Check out the Black Durgon, shore diving, breakfast, room, and taxes wasn't much more. There is an open air full kitchen for guests to use. We were there about 10 days ago.

Jim,

We actually have 4 apartments w/full kitchens and a 1 bedroom bungalow home all with airco. Just wanted to set the record straight. Next time you are on the island stop by! Thanks! Liz
