Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Bonaire in December. I'm travelling alone and have sofar found the Lions Dive & Beach resort. Is it an ok place? Diving good with them? Any recommendations?

Hi Kate, Bob and I have stayed at Lions Dive few times and would recommend it. The diving off the dock is great and the dive staff at Bon Bini are excellent, very professional but great fun. If you have any specific questions, e mail me direct and I'll answer them.

Lion's Dive is great-we've stayed there 3 times. E-mail me if you want specifics. My e-mail address has changed; aamary@charter.net

I second the recommendation for Bon Bini -- a great dive operation, and really nice people.

I have heard that Lion's Dive Resort recently added some kind of motion detectors in the rooms that cause the air conditioning to shut off when there's no movement -- fine during the day, but no good if you like to sleep with the AC on and don't want to wake up in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat because the AC shut off. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? We always stay next door at Buddy Dive (they actually share a dock with Lion's Dive/Bon Bini Divers) and have nothing but great things to say about Buddy's -- we'll be going back for our seventh time next month.

Will be at the Lion's Dive 7/24-7/31

Will find out about the AC soon enough! I am the most hot natured person on earth, so if it turns out at night, I will FREAK. :-)

I stayed at Lions Dive last September and my room had the motion detector. I remember that if you closed the door and activated the A/C it would stay on. So it is no problem to run it all night. JUst close the door, turn it on and go to bed. I am heading back in September. Can't wait.

Hi,
have to say the response has been great so far. It's good to know when your sitting in Norway that you can get some comments before you decide where to go. So so far thanks a lot!!

The motion detectors do turn off the AC but we found that it stayed on during the night just by natural body movement. There are also ceiling fans in the bedroom too. I think that it would be a good place for a woman on her own to stay, I alsways felt safe there.

Hi, this is Susan from the Bon Bini Divers at the Lions Dive. Actually, since many of you have been visiting, the Lions Dive has installed new air-conditioning units in the living areas of the condos--therefore, the entire units are now air-conditioned. I don't think anyone will have a problem. Susan
