I cannot say enough nice things about my stay at the belmar. I felt very safe thier the whole entire time we were there. butchie the guard made sure every night that everyone got from thier car to thier unit safely and walked through the whole complex through the nite.
I loved the staff at the belmar. was so glad that I got to see erica who was in holland and got back the day that we were leaving.
Ania (sp) was great on our buoyancy check out dive she went out with us and dove and was absolutly faboulous gave us great suggestions and would tell us what were good dive sites.
The atmosphere of the belmar is one that if you want to be left alone you can have that or if you love people like I do in the afternoon and eve we would all gather around the pool and talk till dinnertime and somenites we would have dinner together and eat outside or we would go out together.
During the month of june and july it seems to be pretty busy but from talking to someone who has stayed in aug and sept said thier is hardly anyone thier so if you dont want crowds that would probably be best time to go there.
It was nice going home on the plane while you are fighting your pbd to have people that you have fun with the whole week.
The huffs we met 2 years ago at the belmar and have become friends and kids adopted grandparents were also there this year along with thier son-in-law whos back must be sore from picking up my 5'11 baby and throwing her in the ocean and the pool the whole trip.
We also met Mike kelly and kerry and mikes mom (sorry having amnesia) who we had a great time with also.
Plus last year we had met Dr.bob and his family last year and they were back this year with his family and friends and was great seeing them.
Met claira and her parents also while there. Claira is the little 2 yr old on everything else bonaire that parents were worried if they would be able to go because she had smashed her finger in the door. Well they got to go and she did great and was the cutest little girl.

Hi Christine, Clara's dad here! We also had a great time at BelMar. I can't reccomend it highly enough. My only reservation is that I don't want too many people going there which might drive up prices and make it harder to get a room. We stayed at divi last time and now I can't imagine staying anywhere other than BelMar. We probably won't be back for a couple more years since we don't want Clara to be an only child but once the next is old enough I already know where we will be staying.

Hey you guys, thanks for the great recommendation for BelMar. We're going to Bonaire for the first time the last week of September and this is where we'll be staying. We've only heard wonderful things about BelMar and we can't wait. Our week there was planned to be from Monday to Monday, but the other day our travel agent called to say American Airlines has dropped Monday departures from bonaire. We would either have to cut our trip short by a day or add one more (any guesses what we did?). Sure, it cost us a couple hundred bucks, but what the heck, we can live with another day of diving!!

Richard

Claire and I stayed at Belmar last June and had a great time. The peace and quiet is really nice and swimming and diving off the dock ain't to shabby either. The room was spacious and the kitchen was well equiped. We too enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and Butchie was always on guard.

My fond memories of sipping a Bright and watching the sunset are unmatched, and yes Claire and I saw our first green flash there.
So, If you haven't figured it we are destined for Belmar again this year, September 2-12. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to buy one of the apartments for future retirement.
