Will be going to Bonaire latter part of Dec 04, first part of Jan 05. Wanted to stay a the BelMar as we have heard alot of great things but they are booked during the period we are going. Need other recommendations for: 2 diving couples, apt or condo with 2 bedroons, on the water with a good dive spot at our door. Anyone know of a place like this? Thanks, Tim

Tim, I agree with Vince, Bellafonte is beautiful. The reef just off the dock is superb.

and tell Sjoerd that Sebastian and Mary say HI!

Yes, I also agree. In fact when Sjoerd and his partners built Bellafonte they corrected any minor mistakes they made building Belmar. There are very few problems with Belmar however, and they are very subjective. I've stayed at both facilities and they are both top notch. Also, you will not find a better property manager than Sjoerd at Bellafonte.

There is not a lot of diver interaction at Bellafonte because there is no dive shop on site. Divers new to Bonaire however, can get plenty of info through the dive shop they sign up with.
There are also two sets of dive storage sheds and rinse tanks. You can get tanks from wherever and store them in the shed so you only need to go to the shop every couple days depending on how much you dive.

Anyway, if you're looking for a place with facilities similar to Belmar then Bellafonte is an excellent choice.

Good Luck!
