Can anyone make a recommendation on an inexpensive place to stay? My 10 day late December reservation is at the Dive Inn for $105 per night. My travel buddies have bailed on the trip so I need to try and find a less expensive place for one person. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Lisa

Click here for a list of hotels (and other rooms) under $75 a night.

Try the Wannadive Hut. Bart and Bob from Wannadive just renovated the property.

Lisa, if you contact Wannadive, make sure you tell them you read about them on Bonaire Talk. They are the new hosts of our webcams, and I'm sure they'd appreciate knowing that you heard about them here. :-)

Check with Benny at Bonaire Town Homes. It's a great place, and a very comfortable place for a single woman to be. Benny and his wife, Ester, who built and manage the small family operation, are wonderful and will take good care of you.

Rates are VERY reasonable, for a fully equipped unit that's very clean, comfortable and has a wonderful outside sitting/eating area.

I'm currently planning my 7th stay with them.

Do give Bart at Wannadivehut a email. We stayed there in March. It's not the Ritz but it's inexpensive, clean, safe, the location is not bad and the Wannadivebonaire staff are great. http://www.wannadivehutbonaire.com (his server was running very slow just now) If you need a travel agent that has some experience with the Hut, call Tina (ex 116)at Caradonna Tavel. I am sure she has booked with Wannadivehut (I was her first :-) ) http://www.caradonna.com/caradonna/default.aspx

Lisa, in addition check out Eden Beach, and Diver's Paradise. It is not a waterfront property like Eden or Dive Inn, but they are nice, clean and affordable. You can find them on the link that Brian posted:-)

You might find very reasonable accomodation when you consider apartments. I have been to Coco Palm Gardens several times and loved it. Have a look at their website. http://www.cocopalmgarden.org/

There is a small place across from the Plaza called The Tropical Inn Bonaire. We stayed there in January and found it quite nice as they have both rooms and efficiencies.

My husband and I just returned from our three week honeymoon in Bonaire, and we loved, and recommend Kontiki Apartments and Sun Oceanfront Apartments.

I think they are reasonable, and they are great places to stay.

I think Jesse Thode can beat the price on all these places. Look him up at: www.travellersinnbonaire.com
Last summer we did 2 weeks at his Travellers Inn for under $1300. What would that be? Less than $100 a night for place to stay AND vehicle! The rate included studio apartment, all taxes and a rental vehicle. There is a full kitchen in the studio apartment and it is virtually new.

Just found out...as of today it is no longer Traveller's Inn. Jesse sold the property, and now it is called Golden Reef Inn. You can see the new website at www.goldenreefinn.com

Liz and Ed G from the board just took over the place and they have very reasonable prices. It's just North of the big hotels and I believe they can hook you up with a dive operator and a vechicle.
