I think the HV might be out of my budget - are there any hotels that are suitable honeymoon alternatives? We will be doing some diving, but would like a nice room/suite to be able to relax in when we're not in the water or exploring the island. Thanks!

Tim,

Did you have a look at Deep Blue View (www.deepblueview.com). One of the rooms even has a jacuzi.

Tim, Kitty and I spent 2 days in the honeymoon suite of Plaza Resort after our wedding. It's beautiful, with a jacuzzi in the room, in a quiet corner of the resort 2 steps away from the beach. And of course, Plaza has excellent diving facilities.

Tim, you may want to check the bungalos at Captain Don's as well, they are more "private." Don't know the price though...also Belmar may be worth looking at...and Eden Beach:-)

Tim, we've rented houses on both our trips to Bonaire and loved the privacy and space. Especially if you don't just have to be on the beach, there's some great options. Take a look at www.bonairesite.homestead.com for a fairly comprehensive listing of lodging options including a number of houses (sometimes they're listed as "casa.....". Drop me an email if you want specifics on where we've rented.

Hi Tim,

My husband and I just returned from our 3 week honeymoon in Bonaire, and we would highly recommend Sun Oceanfront Apartments (in town) and Kontiki Apartments (if you're a windsurfer).

If you want some other recommendations, you must eat at Bobbejan's, dive/snorkel Andrea II, and lounge at the beach at The Windsurf Place.

We had an amazing time, had no problems, and are totally depressed to be back in Seattle.

Have a great honeymoon!!!
