Has anyone stayed at the Divi in one of the Studios offered thru AAvacations.com. We are considering booking since they apparently have kitchens but wish to know a little about the equipment. As it relates to the stove -- does it have an oven or is it just a cooking surface? Is it equipped with a microwave and regarding the refrigerator -- does it have a freezer or is it an apartment size frig? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

We've been timeshare owners from the start. The timeshares have a basic kitchen with apartment sized frig with an internal freezer, gas stove with oven (broiler underneath). No microwaves so far, but they did add blenders a few years ago. They also have a toaster, Mr. Coffee and the basic kitchen wares. There are pots and pans, utensils, dinnerware and glasses. We usually bring maxwell house coffee packets so we don't have to mess with filters. We bring Ziploc bags for storage and to keep travel items dry. We also pack a packable cooler and bottle opener for poolside and day trips.

Thanks for your input. We have stayed at the Divi before but only with a room. I enjoy diving and my wife enjoys cooking ... even on vacation and she was concerned that the kitchen might just have a "hob" similar to those at The Tropical Inn Bonaire (adequate electric hot plate but not a stove top as we know them in the States).

We are staying at the Divi in June in a Studio. We stayed there last year in a Deluxe oceanfront. How do they compare as far as space is concerned.

Thanks!
Dave

The studios are twice as large. There is a sitting area with a sleeper couch, coffee table, side chair and cabinet next to the 2 full sized beds. A closet on either side of the dresser provides alot of storage. The kitchen is separated by a screen from the main area. The bathroom sink is outside the shower/toilet room. There's also a great screened in porch area with a dining table and 4 chairs and a loungs. We spend alot of time out there or around the pool (depending on how much sun we've had. All in all, a very comfortable place for 2 or even 3. Wouldn't like it too much with 4, but it could be done.

Do the studio rooms also have safes? (We'll be staying in a studio room May 29 to June 5).

Thanks!

Matt

Hi Matt, as I recall the rooms do have safes in them. I think they are the ones that you pay a deposit on at the front desk. Jeff

Yes, there are new, sturdy room safes under the bathroom sink. Nice and strong and bolted to the floor and you need a key to open and close them. We use them all the time while we are there. Have fun!! Carole

Many thanks for the info. Means I can leave the 200lb floor safe at home. (grin)

Two days to Bonaire. I can't wait, and it's all YOUR fault -- reading this board has made me a Bonaire fanatic, and I haven't even been there yet!!!
