Would you consider Sorobon Beach Resort? Best snorkeling, real beach environment, windward side, isolated and QUIET, yet this is a naturist resort. Beach is for nudity. People there are wonderful. Also, price is more like 1150 for the week. Other Bonaire beaches are tiny. The coastline is coral and ironshore. The resorts on the leeward side do not offer the isolation experience, although they offer many nice features.

Welcome to the board Matt.
If you are not familiar with Bonaire, there are no real beaches like we are use to in the states, no long wide expanses of sand. Some of the resorts have put in some sand but for the most part, the shoreline on Bonaire is iron stone and coral rubble. The only place that comes to mind that roughly fits your description is Eden Beach. As far as quite and small, most any of the ocean front places are fine. There are no mega resorts on Bonaire. The snorkeling off all the ocean side resorts is good.

Hi Matt,
The Sand Dollar resort has a small sandy beach where you can enter the water and snorkel among the rocks and pier to see a variety of marine life. You can also enter off the pier which is near Bari reef and an enclosed area called the "aquarium" which has a multitude of marine life. Recent excitement centered on the sighting of a batfish walking in the sand. I'm an owner at the Sand Dollar, so naturally I'm prejudiced.

Have you look into Divi deals lately? I think they have something in the that price range. Check out their rates.

Milton,

I've removed the Web link you included in your message above from your message. Including the link amounts to commercial self-promotion, which is not permitted here on BonaireTalk.

You may want to consider putting your Web link in your profile, where it is fine to put pretty much any information you want, as long as it's family friendly.

Jake

Divi has a small beach, close to town'(5 minute walk), and all other amenities. In addition you are very close to the airport, about a mile, and they have a great staff. I have only stayed there one time. We were there the first 9 days of April this year. You have to join the group at Gibi's on Tuesday night while you are there, the food and Gibi are great!!
P.S. Rent a car for at least a couple of days for the great spots around the island for your snorkel trips. Don't miss Ole Blue! The water off the hotel is real good as well.

If you are looking for privacy and quiet, an apartment may be a good choice. I'd have a look at Coco Palm Garden - range of accomodations (studio, apartment, house), all set in pretty gardens, colourful, hammocks and they are certainly quiet! Beaches are not too sandy. The two nearest to there are a mix of sand and coral, but allow snorkelling from beach.
