I can't recommend the "best" package for you as I don't know your preferences as to type of accomodations. But here are some links to check out.

Do keyword searches for "Belmar" and "Plaza" on this thread and Trip Reports

I stayed at the Plaza for two weeks in January. Very nice resort, nice beach, restaurants and staff. Large clean rooms, some noise comes in from the rooms next door but not that bad. Good dive shop. Anything in particular that you want to know? FYI - the casino is closed.

I like the "Dive and Drive" package at Buddy Dive. It has everything you need in one package, so you don't have to get the car at one place, diving at another and room at another. At least for your first time, it ensures all your bases are covered for one money. When you compare packages, make sure you understand what is and is not included so you are comparing apples to apples. With the exception of breakfast (which is included in the BD package) I would recommend you NOT to get any package with meals included. There are too many good places on Bonaire to eat to be limited to any resort.

I agree with Herman about the meal plans. Besides being a great diving experience, Bonaire is also a wonderful dinning experience. There are many great resonable resturants to explore. Check out the dinning thread and bring you appitite!

We stayed at the Plaza Resort last October, and will be returning there on Wednesday. I would have to say that the stay was completely enjoyable, rooms clean and spacious, and the dive package with Toucan dive was excellent. All in all, we would give it a 10. We would highly recommend the Plaza. It also has a great beach for some down time.
We also agree about the meal plans. The restaurants on Bonaire are wonderful. Don't short change yourself.
Lisa and Lou Z.
