Hi,
We (two of us) are planning a short relaxing break in Bonaire on the way back from a holiday in Peru in June.

We're only staying by accident - Bonaire happens to be a stopover on the KLM Lima to Amsterdam route and I'm looking for some accomodation on the island for only 3 nights. On investigation it looks great - but where to stay?. Diving is not our priority, I'm looking for somewhere nice, relaxing and quiet, within walking distance of a beach, to recover after a hectic trekking/backpacking holiday, and celebrate a special birthday. Any suggestions?

PS - we will be travelling from Dublin, Ireland.

I would recommend spending some time at http://www.infobonaire.com/hotels.html finding a couple of hotels that have the price range and ammenities you want in a hotel (or condo) then using the keyword search feature in the toolbar below to look up what others have said about these places when they stayed there. I've found this to be an excellent process for learning more about the places that look interesting to me. I would imagine that most places would be happy to accomodate you for 3 nights. It all depends on how much you're willing to pay and how many frills you want in the location.

Dont stay at Palm Studios/Blue Divers. We just came back and that place is nasty !

See my comments. I recommend like Divi is nice and has the charm we expect from a hotel!

Paula,

What are the dates in June that you need accommodations?

Divi always gets my vote, but I am a timesharer there so I'm predjudice. The location is central, you can easily walk to town. The house reef,Calabass, is literaly a jump off the dock, is great for snorkeling and diving(although in 3 days I don't know if you will diving much). Divi has a small beach and 2 resturants and 2 pools. Recently renovated, so your hotel rooms are all new too. Check it out. Wherever you stay you'll find this island has a very relaxing atmosphere and friendly peopel.Have fun!

Hi, we'll arrive at about 1am on the 14th June, and leave late at night on the 17th...not much time so the emphasis will just be on chill-out time..

Hi Paula.

We stay at a little Inn called the Dive Inn. It has a little beach out front, and it is right next door to the Divi Flamingo Resort. Many people stay here in the summer coming and going from Peru. Last summer, while I was there, most of the people I met were either just there, or on their way to Peru. In fact, next summer, we plan on doing the same thing. It also has studios where you can cook etc. I met a very nice couple from Dublin last summer, and even took them snorkeling for their first time. I got them hooked. I hope this helps.

Slainte,

Seamus Tomas Padraig MacPeake

Dear Paula,

I would recommend Tropical Inn Bonaire.Tropical Inn Bonaire is small-scale resort within a 2 minute walking distance from the beach and dive-facilities and a 10 minute walking distance from the center of Kralendijk.

The resort has 6 beautiful one-bedroom apartments and 6 hotelrooms. All rooms are brand new and finely decorated in a Mexican style, situated at the swimming pool and surrounded by a tropical garden.

Greetings

Paulien
