After 2 and a half years and a baby we are headed back in late June. If only it were sooner...

This may seem like a strange question but are the railings on the balconies at BelMar baby safe or do we need to bring mesh to cover up gaps between rails? From pictures it looks OK but I'm not quite sure. Our daughter will be 16 months so any other baby at Bonaire/BelMar is certainly welcome!

Thanks!

When we stayed at Belmar last May, the couple in the ground-floor unit next to ours had a child (Charlie) who was about a year old. They used various means of keeping him contained on the patio. In my opinion, the ground floor railings are too narrow for a child to squeeze through although they might stick their heads through them and get stuck. Suggest e-mailing Irene at info@belmar-bonaire.com to ask directly. She should be able to tell you the spacing of the pillars/posts on the railings. The young couple also made extensive use of a babysitter (an older Dutch woman) when they were away windsurfing each day. I believe they arranged for her through Belmar, and she appeared very competent besides being very attentive to Charlie's needs. Good luck.
