Can anyone who has stayed at Sorobon Beach Resort give us some feedback? My wife and I are planning our first trip to Bonaire next January. How is the snorkling or the swimming?

Hi Richard and Welcome to Bonaire Talk.
I think what you really want to do is a search of Sorobon and you will come up with quite a list. at the bottom of this page are some icons.. go to the search icon and put in Sorobon with quotes around the word and you should have all the feedback you can read.. IF NOT peek in again and I am sure someone will step in with more specific help..

Welcome Richard (glad we finally got you connected:-))

While you are waiting for replies, go to the bottom of this page and click on "Keyword Search" and search "Sorobon" in the trip report or accommodations threads you will come up with a lot of information to peruse...several BTalkers stay there annually, maybe they will chime in and give you their feedback:-)

This past October my husband and I stayed at Sorobon. It was our first visit to Bonaire and we enjoyed our stay so much we are going back again this October. We met such friendly people (guests as well as staff). The accommodations are quite simple but very comfortable. I assume you've stayed at a clothing optional resort before. The snorkeling in the bay is probably the best on the island. The water is calm and warm though it is a walk from the resort to the reef (1/2 hour). Be sure to bring reef shoes to walk out there and a mesh bag to carry your snorkle gear. When we put our fins on at the raft we'd put our shoes in the bag and tie it to the raft and then after snorkeling we'd stop at the raft again and change back into our shoes. Go to www.sorobonbeachresort.com and checkout their web site.

SOROBON IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We would not stay anywhere else on Bonaire.

Sorobon has the BEST sandy beach on Bonaire.

Every guest stays in thier own chalet. The resort is in a compound on the far south side of the island. There is a constant wind that is really refreshing. You can walk around the compound in the nude, including the resturant/bar and beach.

Every Chalet has a nice porch with a homock, table and chairs. Even a water hose to wash sand off your feet or to rise you gear. Believe us when we say that Sorobon Beach Resort has thought of EVERYTHING to make your beach stay perfect. Full kitchen complete with dishes, coffee pot and everything you need, except food. Some of the guests we met never left the resort or even ate in the resturant.

There is no tv, radio, internet in any of the chalets and you really are relaxed, the grounds are keep perfect and the staff is the greatest! They even cut coconuts out of the trees for us. You could easily spend your whole vacation in the nude.

The snokeling is awsome! You have to wade or swim a good distance through the shallow bay to get to the reef, but it is worth it. and YES you can snokel NAKED! There a kyaks for use free of charge. Weather swimming or snokeling Bonaire has incredibly clean water, EVERYWHERE on the island.

Sorobon is a truely UNIQUE experience.

If you have any questions please list them and we will answer.

Robert
