Has anyone stayed at the Port Bonaire condos that are part of the Plaza Resort? I had a great time at the Belmar the first week in February. Will post a more detailed trip report, but we are returning at the end of March and the Belmar is full. Thanks

We stayed there last march for 1 week in a 2 bd rm. It was PLENTY large 2 big bd rms and 2 full baths, eating area, full kitchen, nice porch (we were downstairs) large living rm. the problem was it was VERY overpriced and the interior conditon of the place was in my opinion substandard. It definetly needed new everything inside. The airport is r ight across th e street and you hear the KLM @ 3a.m. fly in and any other planes (very loud). I would s tay there again only if I had a place th at was newer and if the rate was cheaper.

I do know that since last year the prices have dropped almost 20%. I also hear there is new manager..! He is making improvements on a daily basis and is responsive to guest wants to make sure they have a relaxing vacation. Last week there was a cheese & wine hour at the pool with all the other guests, we had a wonderful time and the sunset was spectacular

Having stayed there myself for a while, you do get used to the noise after a day or two. Especially if you take the bedroom on the ocean side.

The view is spectacular indeed, even from the pool. The balconies and porches are big.

Thanks for the information. I had already booked a two bedroom condo last week (with Amy at Caradonna Travel - she's great) before I got your posts. I was under the impression that Port Bonaire was only a year or two old. When I read Cindy's post, I was worried that I had made a big mistake. Monique and Marc, you made me feel much better. And, anyplace on Bonaire is good!

Meg
