Hi, I'm new to the board, but did a lot of reading last night. We are trying to book a trip to Bonaire in April and were thinking of staying at the Eden Beach Resort. I've never stayed there, but everything I've read has been very positive. I'm taking my 2 yr old son and 15 yr old niece with my husband and myself and we're looking for a really great deal if we can get it. I went through a travel agent, but I want to see if we are really getting a good deal. The quote I have right now is for $3,084. That is for 1 tank/dive a day, a car and r/t air from Boston on Air Jamaica. The price will be a little higher because now they say we need a 2 bedroom (I don't know why that is?) What has been your experience for the cheapest accommodations for 7 nights w/breakfast?

I just got a very good deal at the Divi for a week in mid May through Caradonna Carribean Vacation, also flying out of Boston on Air Jamaica. You might want to try talking to them for comparison 1-800-328-2288

Remember, the prices drop in mid-April.

Wendy, 1 tank dive a day? Most packages include either unlimited tanks for shore diving, or unlimited shore diving and then 1 or 2 boat dives a day....I would check with Caradonna as well...

The price is actually from Caradonna. I'll post when I hear what I'm actually getting. I think I told her to price it w/out the diving.

Wendy,

The 1 bedroom is really a studio. I agree with the 2 bedroom.

We stayed at Happy Holiday Homes in Dec. we really enjoyed it there. They were very inexpensive and the accommodations were extremely nice and clean. Really set up for divers and windsurfers. Very nice people to work with, and very trustworthy. They are located on the South side of the island about 3 minutes from Photo Tours shop where the boats leave from and the tanks are stored. Great dive shop by the way. Hope this info helps.

Grace

My wife and I just returned from two weeks in Bonaire. If you want economy--the Tropicana apartments offer a two bedroom apartment for under $80 a night. They are new, clean and close to the water. Bob, the owner, is a great guy. We stayed in a one bedroom for $63 a night--and that covers all fees and taxes. I would urge you not to contract for any boat dives. You can do that when you get to Bonaire. I've been there three times and did a few boat dives the first time and only shore dives since then. You'll save lots of money and probably have more fun--you can dive when and where you want to. We dove with the Yellow Submarine which is a few blocks from the apartment.
Good luck.
Easy Perk
