We are hoping to come to Bonaire at the start of March 2004 for two weeks and I would like to know if someone can recommend an apartment with cooking facilities that we can rent mid week to mid week.

We would be coming from the UK and the KLM fares are cheaper mid week. We don't dive but would be coming to snorkel.

I've been reading this board for over a month now and its sold me on Bonaire.

Hi Monica, We have used Lions Dive midweek, we like the cheaper fares too. I would think most places are not as inflexible about Saturday to Saturday as you would find in Europe. Where abouts in the UK are you? We might eventually be able to have a UK BT meeting!

Monica, Glad to see your hooked but wait til you get to Bonaire. You will not want to go anywhere else.
We have stayed at the Dive Inn which is right on the beach and the house reef is shared with the Divi Flamingo. I can't say enough about them so check out their web site at: www.diveinn-bonaire.com and look at the pictures and prices. The apartments are basic but exceptionally clean and it is walking distance to town - 5 - 10 min. Too bad you're not going in Feb as that is when we are going again. Have fun!!

Hi Monica, we too travel on Wednesdays to save a few bucks. We have stayed at Divi Flamingo with no issues. This year we stayed at Lagoen Hills. Very nice accommodations, clean, quiet and a kitchen. It is a few minutes outside of town but not enough to be a major inconvenience. The price was right and the people were very nice.

Hi

Thanks for the advice. I think that Lagoen Hills would be the best for us, in our price range and central so that we could explore.

I would be interested in knowing how late we could leave making a booking.

Now I just have to persuade my husband that Bonaire is where we want to go. He has not got time to read this group so does not understand why I want to go!

I will post in the snorkeling topic about his reservations.

We recently (September 12-19) stayed at Sand Dollar Condo Resort. They offer Studio, one-, two-, and 3-bedroom apartments. All have full kitchens. They are quite reasonably priced and our studio apartment was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. It is located right on Bari Reef. We were very pleased. We rented from Friday to Friday with no problem. Reservation information is available at www.sanddollarbonaire.com.

Monica, also check out Bonaire Town Homes -- we'll be there January for our sixth stay with them. Full, very well equipped, kitchen, very clean and comfortable, VERY nice people, quiet residential neighborhood just about a mile from the water and center of town, and very reasonable rates.

We're booked Monday to Tuesday, so there's no problem doing odd dates. They are so accommodating about everything. They only have two units (a one-bedroom one and a two-bedroom one), so check early on availability. Information is available at www.bonairetownhomes.com or by email at: info@bonairetownhomes.com
