Stayed at Lagoen Hills last March and they are very nice and quite reasonable for what you get. They are a bit (maybe 10 minute drive) out of the way but they were very clean and well kept with daily maid service. Email me direct if you have questions

We stayed at Lagoen Hills the first two weeks of this month and found them to be quite clean. It was very quiet and well maintained. The maids clean every other day.

The stove ran out of propane one afternoon. I left a note where the maids have their cleaning supplies on the way out diving one morning. By the time I got back, the tank was changed and we were good to go.

The folks there were very friendly. The only drag was that it was not walking distance to town. And really that was not a big deal at all. You just had to pay attention to goats and donkeys on the road at night.

Jenny, we stayed a couple of days at Divers Paradise this last time. They are also very clean, well stocked and Buddy's is the dive shop that they use, and will deliver tanks directly to you. They had cable TV and I think HBO too (not that we watched much TV). Some of the apartments have an ocean view. Jacqueline just finished a trip report and stayed there. They are also right across from the webcams! I had friends stay at Aqua Viva, and they liked that as well. It is across the main road so you are close to the ocean as well. As Jeff said, Lagoen is inland a bit so you have a drive to get to town or the dive sites.

The GREAT thing about Lagoen Hill is that they are fully equipped and are bungalows (one bedroom) to 3-bedroom beauties with porches, a/c and fully equipped kitchens. Your hosts are findestkind, they will meet you at the airport and if you rent a vehicle through them it will be waiting for you either at the airport or their offices in Lagoen Hill. You cannot believe the nights on the hill, more stars than you could imagine and most peaceful. You only uninvited guests will be goats looking for a handout of what you did not finish for dinner. You don't need a garbage disposal, just put it outside you gate and by morning it magically disappears. Check their website: www.lagoenhill.com

Oh !!! I forgot to mention the large fresh water pool to which, as a renter, you have full access.

Even better was floating in the pool watching the stars at night. We were there during the 12 hour power outage and it was neat to see the island dark except for the airport.

We had a little yellow bird that stopped by the table each morning for a few bread crumbs.

The gardens are very beautiful. All in all a very nice place. I would stay there again.

Hi Jenny,

Sorry I am a bit late in posting, but work has been busy(start of the semester)
Anyway, I have just returned from divers paradise- and will go back again. The apartments are very clean and very well maintained. They have hot water, fan in the lounge, and Aircon in the bedroom, and if you get an upstairs, then you will get a nice ocean view. The balcony (or patio downstairs) is big and great for watching the sunset.
Location wise, they are 2 mins drive from buddy dive, which made for speedy morning dive trips, and we walked down there one evening for happy hour- less than 15 mins.
The location puts you close to town and between the norht and south diving- I loved the area.
And value for money- amazing. I think they were $79 per night for a full apartment.
Enjoy where ever you stay- message me if you want any more info.
Jacqueline

We stayed at Lagoen Hills Aug 6-13. The house (hard to call it just a bungalow) was far, far larger than we expected. What a treat to have so much room! Carmelita, the hostess, met us at the airport as we were getting our rental truck and escorted us to the house and made sure we were all set.

The house had a large covered patio that made a great setting for morning coffee and breakfast and evening meals. Since we brought a lot of food with us, we didn't have a problem with trying to be close to any eating establishments.

Here's a picture of one of our frequent guests at breakfast.
PrettyBird

The power outage apparently damaged the fridge so we left a note with the rental office and within an hour, Carmelita and her helpers were on-site moving in a replacement.

Without a doubt, the Stay, Drive and Dive package significantly exceeded our expectations. The pool was refreshing after a day of diving and the quiet setting most relaxing. We will definitely stay there again.

I am staying at a 2 bedroom place at Lagoen Hill in April (11 days) and thinking about them for a 14 day stay in August.

How is the pool? My parents are coming in April and do not dive and planned on spending time in the pool. Any guess as to size/depth? Sounds like it is open 24 hours?

My only trip to Bonaire was for my honeymoon, so we were either diving or sleeping. . . What si on TV in Bonaire? I expect my folks will be spending a lot of time in the house while we dive. :-)

The pool at Lagoen Hills is not huge; maybe 20 by 40 or less. It is about 8 feet deep on one end and about 3 on the other. It is well maintained. My wife doesn't dive and she spent many hours around the pool. There was rarely anyone using it last August when we were there.

If I remember correctly, the TV had cable with HBO or Showtime and a few other cable channels both in Spanish and English.

Again, if I remember correctly the lights to the pool go out around 10 PM but there is no one to toss you out. The one bedroom units are closest to the pool, the two bedroom units are a little further away.

Thank you Jeff, I really appreciate the info and have passed it on to my parents. They think I am nuts to be so excited already. :D

No problem, Larry. Lagoen Hills is very nice. "Nuts to be excited already;" hell, I'm already planning my day by day schedule for two weeks in August. (which of course I will completely ignore when I actually get onto Island Time)

LOL, I hear ya Jeff. I am actually getting started on putting together another trip for 2 weeks in August bringing all my kids, maybe I'll run into you. I'll be the guy looking frazzeled going into the water and looking VERY relaxed coming out. ;)

Sounds good to me. I'll be the guy in the tee shirt and tevas with the goofy grin wandering aimlessly downtown.

I am going there tomorrow!! For 50 euro (almost the same as dollars in value) per night for a 1 bedroom-appartement!! I have rented it from a private - owner in Holland!
GREAT!
Afterwards we will go to Palm Springs where I have rented a big villa with pick-up aircon car also for 50 euro per night!
There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, so if someone doesn't have a place to stay, maybe we can arrange something? We are there from 4-20 december. c.tiethof@home.nl
