Hello everybody! My family and I are thinking about staying at the Hamlet Sunset Villa. The photos are amazing....any experiences with the place? Is it cool? Are there any draw-backs to the place? Please advise. Thanks!

Hi Hazel,
We are going to be staying there in a couple of weeks. When I was researching a few months ago several people contacted me and said that it was a great place. I do know that the owner has been very easy to deal with, as has the on island representative. I'll let you know what our experience is when we get back.
Jim

Jim,
Hey thanks! I'm jealous. The help is much appreciated.
Have fun, and I hope you see some cool things!

Our group of ten has stayed there twice and enjoyed it enough that we will be there again this year. The place has a large kitchen, huge patio leading to the water, and a great dive right out the back door. The local rep (Maribell) handled any problems. It is a great place for a large group.

Hi Carole. The diving from Sunset Villa is via a short flight of stairs from the big patio (about 40'X 90') through a small wall at the sea side of the property. Entry and exit is extremely easy. There is a sandy channel through the rocky area just off the beach. If memory serves, the dive site is named "The Cliff". It is a great dive in either direction. In to the water and to the left is a nice wall, you can get out at Buddy Dive and get a new tank. To the right is a couple of small wrecks, and of interest the water intake for the desailnazation plant.

Thanks, Ron! I was just curious if you could gain entry by walking out onto the sand from the beach and directly into the water. We are snorkelers but love to explore the waters for hours on end. Carole
PS Do you have any photos of the water entry area you could post?

Here is a shot of the patio and ocean entry taken from the roof top. It is about the best I have.

Is this a freestanding villa or at the Hamlet Complex? What is next door to each side?

:-)

Thanks again, Ron! Is there any sand at all on the "beach"? Carole

My husband, mother & father and brother stayed at Hamlet Sunset Villa #13 for two weeks recently. The house has 5 bedrooms, large kitchen, patio to the water (no real beach)and is airconditioned. The place would have been great;however:
The furnishings are spartan and uncomfortable. The house is definitely in need of repair (broken windows, locks, bad sewer system). The local rep came and brought new linens and towels twice a week, but when we asked her if we could get more blankets, she was not able to comply to the request. Also, when it rains (and it rained quite
heavily when we were there), the water stayed like a lake all around the house, creating a mosquito haven. For the price, I wish the owner would take care of his house better.
