Learning to dive is still on my agenda, but you know how that goes. Ask me again next year.... :D

I am going to enjoy this day, I haven't had such a crowded birthday in years... Yippee!!!

Oh geez, Cynde... I have only told two colleagues and now three... And I think the third could not keep her mouth shut and so a fourth called me and wished me a happy birthday and asked if I got any presents... The fourth I didn't confirm it to (what the present was), because I had asked the third to keep it quiet....

Now, how cryptic can one be, huh? I'll just leave you guessing and we'll see who's going for the grand prize :-)

But yes, as Marc says I am verrrrry happy today... :-)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Kitty @ CrystalVisions (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #236) on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 8:36 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Hahaha.... Nope, my real name is not Cory... But it could've been. ;)

Jos, you are right in a way (even though I did not catch Angela's bouquet), but there's no date set yet.

So, y'all were on the right track, even though there was no ring (diamonds are not my best friend and neither is jewelry). Actually, I should say no *new* ring, because we have already got our (engraved) rings that are very very dear to us.... :-)

WHAT !!!!!

NO RING ????
NO DIAMONDS ????

NO WAY !!!!

As you would have probably guessed by now : I am rather shocked!!!

Here's the story : I proposed my wife on the Isle of Crete with a ring I've made as a final exam piece for my goldsmith education.
( yeah , I know , I'm a romantic fool.)

Nowadays I only work for closest friends, made a couple of weddingrings for some of my dearest friends in the last couple of years.
The true original touch, how about that?

( and theyre al still together , so ,.... magical jewelry .)

I think you were holding on to the bouquet pretty tight... :-)

Hartelijk gefeliciteerd Kitty en Marc. Veel geluk samen.

Nice touch Martin. You were right, Kitty was really hanging on to the bouquet.

I was assured by everybody that it would only work if I would *catch* the bouquet when Angela threw it into the air like it usually goes. *Not* when the wedding photographer hands it to me so she can make pictures... But I guess it worked anyway... :-)

Very nice story, Jos. Do you work with titanium as well? That's my favorite metal for jewelry... Like I said, diamonds (and gold) are not my cup of tea and no 'tradition' in marriage proposals is going to change that. I'm glad Marc didn't forget that, either... I might have said 'no' if he had shown me a golden ring with diamonds :-)

LOL...

Yes, like Kitty said before we have rings already. Titanium (symbolizing our strong bond), with 2 lines of silver running parallel to eachother (symbolizing the way we keep eachother in balance, continuously). They are ingraved 2002, to which 03 and 04 (next year) will be added.

I figured if you can make the commitment of moving to another part of the world together (and not smack eachother off the island after 5 months), getting married is a comparatively small step to take :-)
