Well, technically it is still friday night, but by the time he reads this hopefully he will either be telling us goodbye, and heading for the aeropuerto....or actually on the island...we never asked him when he was going to be on the cams....

we are packing our gear for our dive day tomorrow at the point...pull the bags out and check, double check we have everything...once punkie sees the bags out she promptly decides she needs to lay on/in it...poor pup! got the boys all set with their snorkel gear (thank goodness we have extra of everything!)...dylon is taking his bike over and matt is going to rent one so they can "ditch" us while we are diving:-( teenagers!

book1 Hi Christine! I always come home and spread them all around me on the floor and read all the backs and blurbs again and then divvy them up btwn first to be read and later on and BoxerBob's pile of pbs with swastikas and/or *dames* in lipstick and sunglasses on the front cover. LOL He likes the cop procedurals and mysteries and spy stuff. If they have a cool hook, I read them, too.

cry Hey it worked, you distracted me from my crying jag. Sniff. I'll be fine. Really. Sniff. Thanks!

book Oh, and when I got home, I received two books I ordered from the sci-fi book club. Doesn't it figure! LOL Those two cost more than the hundred books I got at the sale.

my favorite to relax is to read . Last night went to walmart and got some books and on memorial day weekend I got a 2ft blow up pool with a pump and then put a float in it and read. My teenage girls laugh and think its funny.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Rusty (BonaireTalk Deity - Post #10331) on Saturday, June 7, 2003 - 9:26 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

pool Christine - I've done that. I had a Little Mermaid kiddie pool that we used to winter the goldfish in downstairs. One summer I filled it up on the patio - climbed in and read thru an entire nine-day heat wave! The dogs would walk around and around and around the outside edge and look puzzled.

mag I also get Esquire and Vanity Fair and read those up here when I'm waiting for pages to load or when I reboot after a lock-up. It reduces my stress level when I have something else to do whilst I waste my time reconnecting. LOL

book I got some good authors in both pb and hc at the sale this time - four recent James Pattersons, Roses and Red, Violets are Blue, Pop Goes the Weasel, and 2nd Chance. Got A Peter Straub hc - Mr. X, three Patricia Cornwells I hadn't read, non-Scarpettas, Hornets Nest, Southern Cross and Isle of Dogs, three recent Dean Koontz - Tick Tock, Hideaway and One Door Away From Heaven. So many of these new fiction are offered in the Doubleday Book Club - but I skip them knowing they'll show up in triplicate at the book sale for a half a buck or so.

I usually go to the used book store but life around here has been a like a merrygo round for the past year. My youngest daughter has discovered basketball and has taken over our life. First she played a season in school and then during the winter and spring till just last weekend played on a Aau league that had us traveling all over the state of fl everyweekend.

It's Accordion Lovers Day

accordian

In 1829, two men patented portable instruments based on the same principle - free reeds activated by a keyboard and a set of bellows. Sir Charles Wheatstone of Middlesex, England, called his the concertina. Cyrill Demian in Vienna, Austria, named his the accordian. The instrument came to the U.S. in the mid-1830s. Also know as a squeeze box or a hand harmonica, it was the favorite instrument for both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War.

East Cupcake, Portland or Boston? Then when oh when does he get on-island? I wanna be able to take a break once in a while here! LOL

rain I'm going to put on a sweatshirt and go out and sit in the screenroom and listen to the guy behind us hammering on his new deck in the RAIN and read a book I started before I bought another carload yesterday. I'll be baaaaaack!

Spot a cam cleaner there Rusty? It is raining fine here, thank you, I hope some is going into the resivoirs. We went to the library yesterday, so we are stocked with books for a while. I also got two dvds, we watched catch me if you can last night, it was pretty good. I also got a new pin for my library card, I'd lost my old one.
I think the mirror was happenstance, but what's interesting to me is the camera skipped a second between the two shots, then it went back to :04 seconds instead of :05.
I'll leave you with thisoo

hey i need all of your expert advice last year when we went to bonaire we bought those underwater disposable cameras and the pictures turn out horrible. This year we thought we would buy a digital camaera we went to bill jacksons in fl which was suppose to be having big sale what a joke. The man who was a represenative from sealife said that you could not find it cheaper any place else. I want to know first if this is a good camera thinking about getting the reefmaster digital camera. But wanted to do my homework first the sale is on till tomorrow. Well I found one thing out the guy lied about the price his price was 399.00 and went to diversdirect online and thier price is 299.00 for the exact same camera. Since we just snorkel I figured this camera would be good for underwater pictures. Does anyone else have any better suggestions ?

christine, you might want to post your question under "everything else." i am sure you will get some good recommendations. we have a reefmaster X10 but it is a film camera. we also have a cannon G2 that is digital, but it is pricey. www.diversdiscount.com may have some deals as well. their office is local here and i have been to the retail shop/internet office a few times to buy things. they are reiliable and have a good reputation.
