morning rusty, how ya feeling gal? better i hope! i hope jenni made it home safely!

boy, i don't eat sweets much (hardly ever) but donuts are a weak spot for me! found out that I am insulin resistant yesterday...the blood work came out positive, so it is glucophage and a nutrition councelor to control it...i doubt donuts will be on the new plan:-( she said i will have to cut way back on the carbs, even complex carbs...that's all i eat! waaaaa!!!!

Cynde - that's too bad about the tests. Hopefully you can control it easily. I promise I won't eat donuts in front of you and say, "mmmmmmm"... :-)

Morning Rusty!

Hi, Rusty!! GLad you love me like I amp

Cynde, my husband is able to control his blood sugar so much better w/out carbs.... We both follow a lo-carb plan. I think you will find you are less hungry. Don't know why. I do miss beans and bean soup and bean burritos. Don't care much for sweets either, except I do crave chocolate when my "Aunt Flo" makes her regular visit.:-( Maybe if you do well on your diet you won't have to take the medicine. That is my wish for you.

HarleyAnna; another question. Did you have any trouble getting a lounge chair on the beach at R.Club? wAS THE FOOD ok? p

Harleyanna...you better not eat donuts in front of me! LOL!

Margarite, at this point the way the test results came back, it is meds for now to control it...the diet is just part of the plan. I have been hypoglycemic for years, and complex carbs was the food to treat that condition (no meds), now it has progressed to IR. As I work with about 70 doctor specialists, I am sending my test results to our Endocrinologist at UCLA:-) nice perk of working with some of the the best docs in the country:-)

Hi all, No Cynde, I have not been lurking....just very busy like Margarite told you. Funny though I now know why Margarite sent me all of her bean recipes... You preparing a recipe book is dangerous work...I bet I gained 20-30 lbs typing that book...Umm Umm.. Lots of good stuff in there...But even though I am a retired restaurant owner, I did not put a single recipe in that book with my name on it...(LOL--I owned steak houses and everyone knows how to cook steak) at least they think they do anyway... Sometimes, one must keep some things secret...haha..
Sorry about Bill, guess that discussion must have went on while I was away.. UB

hey topkick...i didn't figure you for the lurking typecam.jpg recipe book sounds delish...and believe me, not EVERYONE can cook a steak! michael makes the best pork chops...when he was at rebi camp i "tried" to replicate his masterfulness with the chops, but BOTH times, they came out a 2, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best, as his are)...i think it is in the way you flip them or something! LOL!

margarite, is jim diabetic?

I love donuts and had my share every time Freddie and Wenda stopped for fancy coffee at Dunkin Donuts while I was on LI. Love my chocolate glazed and my chocolate frosted and now that have NO SMOKING - the donuts taste fresher!

donuts

To celebrate No Diet Day I made a coffee cake for dessert tonight. As soon as I took it out of the oven BoxerBob was wandering around following his nose - trying to figure out what I made. LOL

My cold is finally going - two weeks! I'm still dragging and spending lots of downtime reading but expect to be back to Chat soon and often!

jenii

Jenni make it home safe and sound - she wrote my Dad and said she even went out dancing on Sunday Night. She is SO energetic!
