Cynde - neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these grrrrrrrlzzz from their appointed BT/Chat Beach Bash! My dive buddy Wenda is driving and has a big ol' pickup truck so we're packing up everything we own and heading to Freddie's house first thing tomorrow morning!

Freddie has assured us that she has supplied plenty of Sears Catalogs in the powder room and there's no waiting! You just want to get there first.

Looks like your ready to come down out of the hills there Rusty.

Major announcement, announcing the birth of a bouncing baby Eagle. Born last night, he seemed to be hatching yesterday.

Here's the proud parents.
Eagles

Looks like the first egg laid did not hatch and has been missing from the nest for a few days. Let's all hope the last egg is fertile.

cabin Martin had a nice picture of the SUMMER COTTAGE that Freddie is letting us stay in - great view and no neighbors - but dang if'n I kin find it again.

camera Here's when the last minute stuff starts to pop up, Cecil - like the battery just died in my camera - so I grabbed a non-functional camera I had lying around and stole that battery. Wrong size. Murphy never gives you a break. LOL Have to get one on the way. Wanna make sure we document the event!

jenni I'm meeting Jenni! She'll be in Springfield, MA on April 30th. The bad news is that's a Wednesday. Her only free days to come up this way were early in the week. We still want to set up a BT Mini-Meet if you guys can make it mid-week.

purple The stuff you can find on the web:

Beware Purple Hat Thinking

Most organizations are inclined to greet new ideas with scorn, doubt and derision. In his Six Thinking Hats, Edward deBono has named six kinds of thinking done by groups, one of which is purple hat thinking - the critical and doubtful questioning which tends to kill off innovation and discourage all but the most avid boat-rockers. If you wish to see new ideas rise to the surface, flourish and bloom, you need to keep purple hat thinking in its proper place.

icecream I just finished making two batches of ice cream - maple walnut and chocolate/raisin/pecan. Now I know BoxerBob won't starve while I'm away if something disastrous happens to the microwave. :-)

mothernature Raincoat, umbrella, two hooded sweatshirts, shorts, tank tops, jeans, flannel pjs and sweatpants, sandals and sneakers, bathing suit, bird and plant guides. That ought to cover the weather on Long Island in April. I hope. Please, Mother Nature, cooperate.

bb Yep - the poor guy always has to stay and watch the dawgs. :-) Actually he's mostly a homebody - so I think it's just an excuse so I can go away and not worry about everything at home and he doesn't have to follow me in and out of every body of water I see. He is one of those mellow people who can relax anywhere, so home is as good as away, and maybe better.

packing I'm still putting last minute stuff in the duffel bags, working from a list I keep updating as I remember things - like sunblock and a hat or two.

Friday was not a Good Friday for us. Our beloved pet who was only 9-1/2 years old died. She was a beautiful collie. She was not feeling well on Thursday so off to the vets we went. Blood work and x-rays showed that she had liver and/or spleen cancer. The vet didn't indicate how long we would have her with us and our vet in Denver (where we used to live) wanted us to get a second opinion. On Friday we took her to an internist but she died on the examination table. He said her spleen had ruptured which is what happens when the cancer is there. So quickly your life changes. Puts a damper on our upcoming Bonaire trip (April 26), but now I'm REALLY looking forward to it (as if I wasn't already) :-))
