Good morning Rusty and everyone that will be showing up today. I am very happy to see that the sun still shines on this planet! I NS, it has been pretty much raining for 2 weeks straight (and that adds up to 200mm or roughly 8 inches). I have to go Bonaire.

Have a great one.

Pete

rainbarrel Good morning, Pete! Good to see your smiling face in the morning. You must be getting a lot of this New England weather, too. We've had rain, slush, sleet, snow on and on for close to a week. I dumped out some buckets last week in the backyard and they are almost half full again. That's a lot of wet!

fishbucket

It is good for the earth though and the water supply - coming down slow and steady like this will give the garden a good soaking before the final hard freeze. The Connecticut River is running high and fast - it's the color of mud, too with all the runoff in it.

Hey, Satchmo!

Hi Rusty

I just logged in from the UK. We have perfect weather for the Leonids - Thick Fog :-{ so I will not be up at 3:00 am to see them.

I saw Cynde tempting Cecil to come to BON on Rodales when I surfed there this morning.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Hazel Scharosch on Monday, November 18, 2002 - 3:42 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

WHATDOYAMEAN "TEMPTING" Cecil??? I thought we already had a date - Listen, Navyboy - don't you dare back out on Cynde and I. The only thing getting me through winter is my "Bonaire 2004" mantra. That and wondering what color Bill's mascara is this week :-)!smile

I'm back for a bit this week - 1st quarter is over, all my students are brilliant and cute, the pnuemonia has lost its grip on me, and my new name is "Cheeseball Pizzashorts." I have to confess, though, as a child my nickname was "Poopsie." Travis saw the new Harry Potter flick, and his ten-year-old-review voice says, "AWESOME!"

I would dearly love to take Red Creek School to Bonaire, but, with immunizations, etc., the parents want their kids to stay in the USA. So...we are going to experience San Francisco and drive along the coastline to Monterey Bay. If I can't get them into the water snorkeling, at least we can explore tide pools, observe sea lions, eat fresh crab, and watch the weirdos on the wharf, present company excluded of course.smile

If any of you have great fund-raising ideas, let me know!

That 12:10 pic was a beauty, Rusty. I can indeed see myself on that sailboat, Cynde wearing her purple hat, Cecil wearing his thong and sipping a Black Velvet. You should join us - Bonaire 2004, Bonaire 2004, Bonaire 2004...2

You are right, Brian. 2003 sounds good, 2002 sounds better! It beats my OLD count, though, which was something like 3,254 days and a wake up. Cynde and Cecil prompted me to sell my home, my children, my body - but no takers :-( and bump it up to 2004. I still have PBD from March 2001!

2004 it is Hazel. A good mantra if ever I heard one.

Well as a goddess I think it was a white garter belt!!

Ommmm? Can she inhale water up her nose? I saw that in a yoga book once. I nearly drowned myself.
Yikes! I don’t think that is a necessity. Maybe if you get to grand-poo-ba and can levitate, drinking through your nose is no big deal?

I think it's safer to be agnostic.
Who said anything about “believing”? Actually I think it’s safer to be Scorpio!

Hazel wrote:

Hazel – A WHOLE week with the same colour, never! In celebration of tonight’s best in the century Leonid shower, I’m sporting silver streaks.

According to the Red Book of Westmarch,
In Middle-earth, Bill Rathborne was a
Deceitful Hobbit

Elven Name
Meneiach
Another masculine version is:
Meneiachion

Hobbit lad name
Dodinas Banks from Greenfields

Dwarven Name
Gorin Oakenmail
This name is for both genders.

Orkish Name
Razhthak the Despot
This name is for both genders.

Finally, the cuddly furry names are off - I'm a DESPOT!!!

Ommm & oil - with FEELING!

Hah! You guys (gals) are a riot! I PURPOSELY did not do the middle earth, hobbit, elvin name thing because...quite honestly...I cannot even pronounce some of 'em, let alone interpret what they mean! Looks like a buncha cussin' to me, and I get PLENTY of that from NCSD#1's school board members!

I personally like to think of myself as Beautimous maidenophous...although...I DO like Meryl's "elvin" name, whatever it is!
