Good Morning Rusty,

You are the only one in the pool so far. Oh well now you have company!

They have got to stop showing Julia Roberts movie Nottinghill on TV so often! Whenever I'm channel surfing, like last night, and I come across Nottinghill I'm hooked. A good movie, but I'm obsessive about Julia *sigh*.

Messes up my watching news shows. Fortunately Cheryl doesn't mind watching Hugh so we watch it together, again, and again......

Think I'll do some work today so probably mostly lurking with one eye.

Hope it is a good one for everyone who joins in soon.

See ya later,

Bill

vehicle Good news from my Dad. He heard from my brother last night. Donald was just getting into Tulsa, Oklahoma and bedding down for the night in a Motel 6. Guess he decided that he didn't want to fool around with setting up a tent every night. Haven't figured out the miles yet - but he's rolling!

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Rusty Clark on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 11:45 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

OK - he's more than halfway by now. I went to MapQuest.com - my favorite mapping site - and grabbed his route so far:

Thats pretty good progress in such a short time...especially driving alone!

Meryl - it seems like a VERY long trip and that's just halfway:

TOTAL DISTANCE TO TULSA:
1486.18 miles

Now he's into the second half - and he has to be getting tired of driving. I know he was looking for interesting sights along the way (he mentioned the world's largest ball of twine) but I bet he just keeps driving. I know I'd want to just get home!

howdy all...great shots of the divers gang...wow, cam was busy! rusty, when i moved TO Washington D.C. from San Diego as a blushing bride many many years ago, we drove the whole way...it was a LONG trip. when we headed back west a few years later, did it AGAIN...we did have a stop over in colorado for a wedding which broke it up. but we had 2 cars, and my EX-HUSBAND was determined to make it in record time, taking backroads, and wouldn't let me turn on the AC in the car because he feared it would overheat...it was August! Yuck! I don't think we made it any faster on the "backroads."

Hi Buddies
hya
Martin, I'll fight you for a place in Freddie's syuitcase! Or, if you're not leaving Angela, does that mean I get the place? suitcase

Cynde, I agree with Martin. Awful drive! We don't drive those distances in the UK. 'Cept when we go over to Europe, but of course the sea crossing breaks it up somewhat.

Bill, me too! Julia absolutely gets me ev ery time - hook line and sinker. And I'm a woman!!!!And Notting Hill gets 'me' every time too. And I have the video. prettywomanAnd Pretty Woman is the same. Just can;t not watch if I catch sight of it.

Rusty, glad to hear Don is getting there, albeit slowly, and safely! When I looked at the map I saw Springfield, but near where Don is now. But you are near Springfield [Massachusetts], aren't you? And isn't there a Springfield in Connecticut as well? I'm confused confused

And thanks, guys, for the wonderful sunsets last night. Those clouds made it spectacular.

Good afternoon all. Did the cross country thing once in my younger years. Never again.

Do Y'all know that the teenager Eagle is still hanging around the nest getting feed.

Neat shot notice him hiding his food when mommy probably brought it for him. Teenagers are so self centered. Link.

I did get out diving this last weekend, great story. If I can get Photoshop running at home, I'll try to post the pictures tonight.

El Grito Day mex

The celebration begins at 11PM on the 15th and continues through the 16th. "El Grito" (Cry For Freedom) are the words Father Hidalgo said on the night that Mexico began its rebellion and gained independence from Spain in 1810.
