Housekeepers Day

Without housekeepers our lives would be in chaos, and our homes would be like messy little pig pens!
HURRAY FOR HOUSEKEEPERS!
A day is not enough - lets give em' a whole month! Maybe even a whole year!

And if you do your own housekeeping, pat yourself on the back - and take the day off!

Good Morning Annette,

Thanks for breakfast!! Need a good one today. Packing (stuffing!) the car and driving my daughter back to University of Guelph today. I'll be tired by the time I get back about 6:00 pm today.

Everybody have a good time watching the fishies,

Bill

Yeah I'm rushing this week also.....can't wait for the weekend....It is vintage car weekend here in Ocean City...they have a parade of old cars in the parking lot across the street, this usually marks the last busy weekend here....this summer sure went fast!

garden Hi Meryl! You have room with a view - and lots of noise and traffic to go with it. My summers always fly by too fast. Once Labor Day gets here I start dreading the winter weather. We're still getting peppers and tomatoes - using them up as fast as I can. Frost won't spare anything.

Hi everyone. I agree with you all - this summer just flew by!!! I got my C-Card yesterday - what a dorky picture! Hate getting my picture taken and it shows. Now I just need to get a trip planned so that I can use it! Have to do it before mid-November as not allowed to take vacation in December or January. Hope everyone has a great day. By the way - going to tell my boyfriend about today being housekeeper day - maybe will be inspiration to him that we need one! LOL

Rusty....now its time for the dreadful holiday planning....Halloween stuff in the stores already..and you know what will follow shortly!!!! UGH.....

congrats Congratulations, Kelley! Did they take it with a polaroid right after you got back from your dive? On mine, my hair is still wet and flat and all my mascara had washed away. LOL But I look sunburnt and happy in it!

makeup Anybody find GOOD waterproof (but removable) mascara? My fave company changed their formula and it now goes on like asphalt and stays on til your lashes fall out. Ugh. the Cover Girl Remarkable washable waterprrof tends to run when you sweat or tear up. Not good.

I bet Bill will know. He has that *feminine* side, remember?

Had just gotten back from doing our open water dives. Was sunburned, had hair yanked back in ponytail and sunglasses on top of head. The dive shop owner said I looked like I had a crew cut!!! I have the same trouble with mascara - lashes are blonde without so I look like I do not have any!!! Let me know if you find some you like.

Seems like I had better explain the word MITHER for Rusty and Faith, and others?

dictionary
This is what the slang dictionary says:-
mither: To bother, pester, hassle, harass, worry, fatigue.
Pronounced MY-thuh, this is a colloquial term current in the North and Midlands areas of England,
and is often applied to fretful children.
Example: Stop mithering, Johnny, we'll be home soon.
Johnny kept mithering me all afternoon.

So yeasterday I had a very mithery day. It never entered my head I'd have people wondering what it meant. What a laugh! laugh You can all add it to your vocabulary now.

I would have preferred to get this done before getting my picture taken. As much as I do not like sitting for pictures - hate the results even more. Will just have to live with it I guess. My boyfriend got a giggle anyway!! LOL

I'm preparing handouts for a course I am running this weekend, and needed to add some drawings. So I have been playing in Powerpoint for over an hour, and thought I had done it. But no! The 'scribble' I drew my complicated drawings with has come out as very thin and hardly visible lines. Errrrrgggghhhhhhh smashcomp

So back to the drawing board - no pun intended. Think I'll try scanning them next.

Thanks for the 'mither' definition, Jenni! I did finally get that from all the references I found online last night -- and was quite surprised to find out there was a long 'i' at the beginning, and that it didn't rhyme with dithering and blithering!

I figured it must be a slang term when I didn't find it in any dictionaries...

Faith

Faith - me, too! Long i? That sounds very archaic and sort of cool. Have to add it to my vocabulary and impress my friends and family!
