Man, I just received an email from my son's company commander in Afghanistan, Major Barnes. I am not going to post it on here, but I got extremely emotional reading it. It seems as though they were on a major operation, last month, against the Talitubbies, and Tim called in a whole lot of fire on them which saved a lot of Marines. According to Barnes, Tim stayed very cool under fire, directing both mortars and two F-18's from above hitting the Taliban positions and sending them to meet 72 Virgins.

I hate war, and so do the people that fight it. But I am so damn proud of this son of mine. And in all reality, these are not real nice people that we are fighting there. I'm happy that 3/1 can assist them in their martydom.

The Major's wife is also in Afghanistan up at a pretty secure place called Camp Leatherneck. She will be there for a year, and she gets a two week R&R in December. She is going to meet him in the Maldives, as they are both divers. She can fly from Kabul to Dubai to the Maldives. I sent them a lot of info and pictures, at his request. He replied with this info to me this morning. See, divers around the world are so cool. LOL

Well, today was the first day of school here for my boys...Nathaniel is a senior and Jared a Sophomore. Not only was it their first day of school but...


The girls had their first day of pre-K!!! They had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back tomorrow. BONUS...Grandma picks them up AFTER she sleeps in!!! Whoo-hoo!!!

RA, she could have taken you on if she suspected you were taking her picture. It was worth the risk.

I know a woman who had quintuplets. Part fraternal and part identical. For a while they insisted on dressing alike, but at a certain age, NO WAY. Wonder what your cuties will do?

This woman and her husbands were ski bums, not trying to have an instant giant family. Thought they'd just get started on a little family, and BAM! Quintuplets! What are the odds. When people ask her how old her children are, she says, "16", and watches the wheels grind.

LOL! When I walked into pick up the girls from pre-K this morning, a lot of the people are around my age (I know them from school, work, etc) so naturally it seems as if I am there for my own kids. When I was asked who I was picking up and said my granddaughters, you should have seen the looks on the faces of people that don't know me! Nice to be a young grandma
