It's really a Monday for me. John took yesterday off, and I had the girls here for a week while their Mom attended the national romance writers conference here in Orlando last week. But today is back to normal! Just me, Chaos, and Cheeko!

Dentist yesterday, Chiropractor today..... As Pegi Sue would say, It's all good!

Better than your own buns. Last night I let Tipsy out and she did her normal thing of barking at the shadows. I keep hearing the soft squeaking sound coming from the back yard, so I get a flashlight and go searching, I keep hearing the soft sound and after a bit narrow it down to a tree in the back yard. I shined the flashlight up in the tree and see four sets of eyes staring back at me. It was a group of four young raccoons up the tree. Tipsy must have chased off mommy who left the babies in the tree for safe keeping. I grabbed the dog and left the backyard for mommy. Cute little critters.

Not many crickets here this year, but we got cicadas everywhere, even in the daytime, they are making a racket. Went for a walk this morning and egads, they were loud!!! And at night, forget about it, if there are any crickets here, they drown them out.

In case one does not know the sound of cicada, here it is, multiply this solo sound by thousands and that is what we got going on in our neck of the woods.

our Lab was trying to bite it - silly doggie...

I never actually "see" the cicadas, just the case from one in the yard. Oh, another sound that freaked me out when I first started canoe fishing on the Ottawa river was the sound that a bunch of "loons" make. Beautiful bird, I even have an awesome painting hanging above my fireplace downstairs of one, but if ya never heard one before like I was at the time, it was eerie. Thought there was people in the trees laughing before I found out it was the loons.

Hello my special friends

Just a quick pop-in with an update on my mom. She was up and walking today...just from the bed to the hall and then back again, but it is good. She then sat up in a chair for a good part of the afternoon and was able to do that without too much discomfort. PT was supposed to come back this afternoon for another walk, but I'm not sure that happened. As of the time my dad went home to take care of the pets, they had not been there. They have filled out paperwork for a rehab center in Greenport, which is near Shelter Island and would be the best spot for her if there are openings. Should know more on that in the next couple of days. Her spirits are tremendously good

today was prep day and I was in the back kitchen cutting everything but my fingers....felt good to just sit and cut things to pieces .........homefries all done, oranges all done strawberries done. peppers and onions DONE. Melons all DONE.......tomaters too nothing like doing a case at once I am still crying cause of the onions...........
