Eileen, that cat pic reminds me of Kayla and Rafe on his 3rd Birthday....he was smelling the icing on his cake and she pushed his face into it!!! He's almost 18 now and has never gotten over that!!LOL

I'm sitting here waiting for Miss Kayla Jane to get here!!!!! She's coming to get all of her "Kitchen stuff" for her new house. G accidentally packed it in the moving truck when we moved. Which was probably best...she's pretty much lost every thing we didn't take!!!! But....

We've had a superb day here. We were going to head back down to the beach but ixnay on that... Rasta and LG are sound asleep on the patio, Guy is going through boxes of his grandmother's things and I'm finishing the book, Eat Pray Love. Excellent book by the way! Highly recommend it.
Did I mention that we're already in our jammies??? It's a really good Saturday!

Eileen, looks great, but next time soak the planks a bit more. Not supposed to burn. Low and slow. The steam from the planks poach/cooks the salmon.

But, a tad of smoke from the burning plank does add a nice, no, very nice taste to the fish. So, you did it the way I like it...

Thx Jerry! As always, when trying something new we 'follow the instructions'. I did soak the plank for 4 hrs - next time, overnight, we found it still dry. And then the recipe called for the temps to be 400F, high, but we followed the recipe. Definitely agree with low and slow! And a bit of crispy smoke . We are definitely going to do this again soon, the flavour was amazing and the colour beautiful! The salmon was the first 'real' food I have eaten since Wed. I'll have to post the recipe!
