Busy day for me today. I am charged with where Aquawoman and I will be going this summer. She wants exotic. I have carte blanche. I was thinking Bayonne, Camden, or Newark, NJ.

I am also meeting a very old friend of mine today for lunch at the Pineville in beautiful Bucks County, near New Hope. Bill knows the area.

Jim, we watched Alice in Wonderland. No movie theaters worth going to here. We have our own setup so we watch stuff as it hits blu-ray. We're a little behind the times but it's great to be able to pause and hit the head.

I don't know Jerry, sometimes you just have to be grateful for a touch! You're just spoiled.

Will somebody wake up the real bill and tell him some one is posting under his name again. Unless this is the real bill and he's up working on his birthday list already.

Deb, I like babies!!!

I just heard from Lt. Tim. They had a very very tough week last week. Kilo Company (Tim's) had 3 KIA's and a number wounded. Please continue to keep all the guys in your thoughts and prayers. He sounded good, but also sounded very tired. I could tell you so much about what he is doing there. He handed out all the sunglasses I sent over for the kids. He promised some pics of all the cool dudes and dudettes in their new glasses. Temps are spiking at about 115 degrees everyday. In full battle gear and Kevlars, that must be hell on earth.

It looks as though Aquawoman and I will be doing a Liveaboard in the Maldives. Anybody wanna go?

Jim, Tim is constantly in our thoughts and prayers with our families' service members. God bless all of them.

PrinceyPoo, how does your garden grow?




Well, we had a very nice weekend! White-water rafting was a blast...great time had by all! We went with our ambulance corp, group of about 35 and the day was perfect! It was forecast to rain, but it held off til we were on our way home! As we were heading onto the highway, a rainbow appeared in the sky FULL rainbow and it was GORGEOUS!!! I've seen bits and pieces of rainbows recently, but this was just awesome!

Yesterday I slept til 1pm (I was a little tired...getting old you know ) Nathaniel and Deborah had some friends that had gone on the trip with us on Saturday and they slept over, so after a late breakfast I got talking to Nathaniel about when we were going to get stuff done in the backyard. Well, his buddies chimed in and said they would gladly help! Imagine that!!! Who am I to turn down that offer? Well, we got a couple of smaller trees cut down and a ton of weeds pulled and lots of raking done. Now to get a few plants to fill in the area and also work on the kids play area...going to get some railroad ties or the like and then some cedar chips and make the area look nice! I didn't think we were going to get it done before Deborah's graduation, but WOW!!! WE WILL!!! I was thrilled to get so much done!!!

Here is the after shots...picture overgrown yuck! The picture with the grill shows our yard up to the fence line. Behind that is our neighbor's yard with the chicken coops (and other assorted junk) That is the only disadvantage to having cleared all the brush...have to see the junk next door...we'll remedy that at some point, I'm sure!

Last but not least, Li'l Red seems to be an alpha...she now jumps over the barrier that we set up between her and Jasper's areas and takes over his bed. We bought Jasper a bone while we were at the pet store yesterday and he enjoyed it for the afternoon until she came and took possession of it! The nerve! The two of them are fast becoming playmates. We do have to keep an eye them when they are playing though as Jasper is soooo much bigger than the pup!

Anywho....this has taken me almost an hour to type in between calls and what-not and I'm sure there are others who have chimed in by now! So hello and good morning to all of you as well

Ruthie! What a cool weekend - I'd be worn out!

I wanted to tell you that female short hair dachshunds always dominate but no one ever believes it until they've experienced it. It's only just begun! LOL

Ohhhhh! Forgot - Ruthie, discourage jumping when they're young. They're capable of it, as are all dogs, but as they age their backs and bones get weaker (like ours). It is all too common for a dachsie to break or injure its back and end up with wheels and cart under the hind end. It is a very sad thing to see.

Bill, believe me! I'm taking great care of that!!! She has this baby seat that I pulled up form the basement and she scampers up it to get on the sofa (her throne! LOL) and then when she wants to get down, so slides off it. It is hysterical! Thanks for the reminders

Got all my dive gear and camera stuff checked and tested. (notice I've packed all of that first). Started the clothes packing for three months and the first suitcase is 61lbs!!! Gotta weed it out! Think I'll give it one more try today. All errands done. House/dog sitter coming by for debriefing tomorrow and off to CA and then FL 'til mid September!

Hello Everyone!!
I've spent the entire day playing in the kitchen... homemade marinara for meatballs (ready to cook tomorrow), shoyu pork for tonight, ginger marinated cucs, and ginger/cilantro marinated chicken for Thurs nite.

Guy and I went out to a fav local hangout to listen to a friend sing and nosh on Friday... a couple came in and sat next to us...
they had two toys with them
