Good morning BT. It's rainy and windy here today. Great for the ducks and for washing the oak pollen down.

SSG, Jerry, Jeanine and all to follow - have a good Friday

I had a very interesting Wednesday and Thursday with jury duty. I tried my best to be the wall flower that I am in crowds, but I was selected to an armed robbery case with surprises. Glad it is over and the bad guy is in prison for many, many years.

Good dreary Friday morning...
I feel like carp and have virtually lost my voice...
My body aches...
I have tons of stuff to do, but at least I don't have to work...

Hugs (germless ones) to everyone!).

Wow, Linda...glad it's over for you.
I like your quote, too.

Happy Friday!

Im already up and accounting - on account of I need to get things wrapped up for the accountant :)
That and Ms. Rasta somehow managed to get stuck under the bed... I'm not sure how she's doing it but the last two nights she's scooted herself completely underneath the bed and then can't get out. That's where she used to sleep all the time but she hasn't in a long time.

It's another beeeeautigorgeous day here today with the promise of Uber nice weather starting on Sunday.

Florida is bursting at the seems with BTrs! Jim hope you can check in from time to time. Roger and Karen are having a great time. Elvira safe travels today and please pass the hugs all around!

I'm here, Boom. We just had a big event in the lobby with tv cameras and all.
A bone marrow recipient and donor met for the first time. The recipient was a 1 year old when she needed a bone marrow transplant. She is now 4. The donor is a young woman from the Tampa area who, at the time, had a one year old daughter.

Very heart warming. Tissues were needed all around.

Sarah, Nice Pelican.
Did you know that.....

The most wonderful bird is a Pelican.
Their beak can hold more than their belly-can.

Don't blame me. Terry's dad used to sing that to his kids.

Sarah, Welcome to the RAIN!!!! It's soooo depressing and too dark in my studio to paint. YES, I have lights in there just for painting, but something about gray skys and feeling artistic...It just doesn't work. SOOOOOOOOO, I'm sitting here with the furkids, Rita has actually gone out in the rain and pottied. It's gonna be a good day......for sitting around wishing I had boxes and could start packing:)

Good Morning to ALL!!!!!:)

I just read my first paragraph and it's just all over the place!!!LOL Oh well, yall get my point!! I hope!:)

Wonderful story, Linda. Has that been on TV? It sounds sooo familiar. Whatever, it makes me happy!!!!:):):):)

We are still waiting on the realtor in GA to get in contact w/ the homeowner about the house we want to rent. Very small, but just what we need to get all of our stuff straightened out.

I had to take Mom to the Hosp. yesterday. Her blood pressure was really high. They increased her bp meds (not bi-polar...LOL) and she is doing fine today.

OK, so that's me for today....:)

Timmmy, I want to see what you are working on!!!!!

Well, here I am in sunny Florida. Yeah right. It is actually clearing right now. The flight down was quite harrowing. It gave a whole new meaning to shake rattle and roll. My son's house is very nice. I am very proud of him.
Tomorrow, I shall be driving down to Ft. Myers area to meet up with some fellow BTers. On Sunday, back to Orlando, then Phillies Spring Training on Monday and Tuesday in Brandenton and Clearwater. Back home on Wednesday for his most blessed day. (March 17th) Time for a nap, as we are going out tonight.

It's been driving me crazy that I couldn't remember that author. Here she is, from Wikipedia...

"Her first book, Suds in Your Eye (1942) published by Houghton Mifflin, was described as "a crazy, funny story" about three impoverished but high-spirited and beer-loving elderly women. "The book was unlike most of the novels coming out of Southern California at the time", wrote Beatrice Sherman in The New York Times Book Review on December 13, 1942. This book was adapted into a Broadway Play by Jack Kirkland in 1944.

Suds in Your Eye was followed by five other books about the same three women: Mrs. Feeley, Mrs. Rasmussen, and Miss Tinkham, plus their handyman, only known as "Old-Timer". These included High Time (1944), One on the House (1949), Wait for the Wagon (1951), Tooner Schooner (1953), and Let's Go for Broke (1962), all with illustrations by famed The New Yorker artist George Price. Their home base for most of the series was called "Noah's Ark", and was a junkyard in San Diego, but the third and fourth books were set during travels. These books consistently featured certain themes: the main characters faced financial disaster, usually were forced to take innovative measures to ensure a homeplace, rescued other people with problems, and acted as matchmakers.

Among Lasswell's other books were Mrs. Rasmussen's Book of One-Arm Cookery (1946), I'll Take Texas (1958), and Tio Pepe (1968). Lasswell was also an editorial writer for the Houston Chronicle in the 1960's.

Lasswell was born in Glasgow, Scotland of American parents on February 8, 1905, and grew up in Brownsville, Texas. She was married to Dr. Dudley Winn Smith, a surgeon.

She died at the Solvang Lutheran Home in Solvang, California of Alzheimer's disease."

More than you want to know, I'm sure. A friend of mine did her Phd thesis on her, and interviewed her at her home in Solvang, back in the day....

No rest for the weary, and boy was I weary today! I managed a 20 minute catnap before I came into work. I put Snow White in for them and they both curled up with me while I snoozed. Now I have a large cup of high-test java and I'm good to go till the end of work at 11:15pm tonight.
