This is Topaz, a 4 year old smooth collie.

Topaz

Topaz

She is a bit thin, a LOT dirty, and so far very sweet except to poor Jingles, who can not figure out why all the snarling. Oh well... once we get a routine established, I'm sure she'll settle down and learn that he's harmless if a bit exuberant. :-)

I'll post more pics after her day at the "spa" tomorrow.

Hope all goes well with the Spa Day - looks like she could started that before the trip but hey! Diff't strokes for diff't rescuers! :-) She looks a lot like our Buddy we lost last year (no idea what he was). BEST OF LUCK!!! :-) :-) :-)

Good for you, Becky! Poor thing has a little bit of what-happens-next about her at the moment, but I know you'll take care of that. Extra pats to Jingles for making room for her, too!

Well, the first 12 hours were rocky to say the least - she attacked Jingles 3 times - once quite scary-bad! I'm working on getting them close together with a barrier (crate/baby gate) in between them for now - there will be NO togetherness for a while.

Unfortunately, I think this breeder dumped her problem dogs on rescue as 2 of the other 5 of these dogs that we took in are doing the same thing. When they attack - they go straight for the neck of the other dog. Kinda ticks me off.

Oh well, she is very sweet to people, she is squeeky clean from her bath (had to soap her twice cuz the water was brown) and seemed calmer tonight. I'll keep working on it, but Jingles comes first! :-) Oh yeah... and based on the paperwork, she's 6 years old, not 4. Not that it makes a difference, but I wonder what else the breeder told us that wasn't quite correct.

Aww Becky, I'm sorry that the first day was rough. I agree, Mr. Jingles is #1 and first for sure!!!

Hopefully she will understand better as time goes on. It would be nice to see them play and hang with each other and maybe in time that will happen.

Glad she's all clean; that alone might help her attitude. She is with YOU and has someone that cares about her. I can't say, here, what I want about the "breeder" as it would get me banned for life! That idiot a**wipe has a special place you know where waiting for them. They will get theirs in the end.

Just know that you're doing awesome and you have a big heart!! Will be praying for you all as you continue the transition and adjustment. Extra hugs to Mr. Jingles!

I wonder what the heck happened to these dogs to make them so aggressive? I just don't think any creature starts out that way....somebody or something turns them.

You're the rescue expert, but I've never known an animal who wouldn't finally respond to kindness, so good luck! Jingles, I'm sending you a virtual doggie chew, buddy...good boy!

Aw, Poor Mr. Jingles. :-( I am betting on Jingles to turn that little doggie around along with your love and care.
