Ain't easy. It's generally not one thing that makes ya want to throw in the towel, it's the day after day, month after month, year after year of watching over our little BT. Putting out fires, slapping trolls or mean folks, it never goes away. It has to be tended to daily like a garden to keep the weeds out and the frost from killing it.

Having been a mod for around eight years, I've too thought of throwing in the towel more than once...in fact, quite a few times.

My spouse has wanted me to throw it in...nights of tears, anger, frustration, and more. It is stressful. May not seem like it to those outside, but it is.

Lately, I've pulled back due to work obligations. I just don't have the time right now...

Over the years I've pulled back a little (always letting the other mods know I need a "break" from BT and the stress).

Jerry, I'm glad L set you straight. You are one of the squad. Freddie, you too...take a break if you need to, but don't put up the white flag. When one needs a little rest, the others can carry you for awhile.

I'd be glad to come on board - I don't have the free time like I had in past years but I'm there if you need another set of eyes.

I haven't been part of BT very long - for what it's worth I do know being a mod isn't easy, I do appreciate the time and effort, and I know the carp way outweighs the thanks. So just to try and counterbalance a tiny bit of the carp -- THANK YOU MODS!

BT is a wonderful place, CC is fun, the info is priceless as is the camaraderie. None of it would exist without you gals/guys. I know it and I am thankful.

btw. I think if last Thur is any indication it's the mods that make BT the most fun - we each add a little something but a squad of mods -- seriously, that was off the hook!

Cynde, very well put. The Mod part is easy now, seems everyone knows the game plan. My problem was, and is, always trying to make BT something for everyone, evolving, growing. The add thread that Freddie has spent so much time on should be a kick-ass thread for BT. I'm sorry to say that I might have been the one that put the bug in her ear, and will help Freddie in any way she needs.

The thing for me is... that when I've had something happen in my life that upset or scared me (ie; major fires here, the dive shop's compressor blowing up right outside of my shop, Rasta's liver scare) I ALWAYS run to BT first. Seriously, this is my safe place.

That wouldn't be possible if not for the outstanding dedication all of you Mods give to the forum --- each and every subject too!!! It's amazing the amount of time you have to put into it.

Think about how much time it takes for each of us to just keep up for our own personal use --- and then think of doing that for each topic without even getting to your own personal use... I can't even fathom it!!!

The mods on this site overall do a great job. All your efforts are greatly appreciated!

I cannot say how much BT has become a part of my life, every morning, grabbing a cup of tea and starting my day with all of you. Sharing the good, the bad and ugly at times. BT Meets are really awesome and all the friends I have made over the years here. Priceless. Having a wonderful group of mods who really care about BT, sharing a laugh or two in CC, helping the newbie, you mods are the heart and soul of BT, I mean that. Each of you mods contributes in their own and wonderful way to make BT work like a fine tuned engine. The rest of us are the arms and legs that make BT a wonderful family of folks from all parts of the world.

Anytime any of you need any help with anything, just give me a holler, I would be happy to give something back for all I have gotten over the years. I will be having even more "free" time soon, so you all know my number. I do enjoy talking a lot, but I can also have a good ear or shoulder when you need one.

Nice. Well, two of my favorites Jerry - whom I do TRULY relate to and Leo who in weird ways I understand - it is sad to be hyper educated and yet insecure is the CRUX of why BT is of interest to me. In our weird world Leo would still be here - woe is us. Jerry, on the other hand, continues to CARE! I've been stomped by both -- I'll take Jerry ANY DAY!!! Freddie - she's a saint.

I've suggested adding a "links" page. Links to the most common things folks ask about, maps of Bonaire, STINAPA links, BMP, stuff like that. I gave Jerry a bunch as a suggestion, if it comes to fruition and you think we've missed one, pass it on to the mods. This way, rather than having to comb through the archives or our bookmarks, it's easy to point
