Morning all! Does anyone know how to remove the background from a logo? The guy who used to do the graphics for KARE is no longer with us and the only logos we have are with a white background. That is fine for coffee mugs and letter head, but looks horrible on t-shirts that are not white. This is driving me nuts! We have a major program coming up and need new t-shirts and we are all computer illiterate when it comes to this.

I'm feeling a little of this today.

It is Thursday, so...

THE PASTOR'S CAT...

The pastor of a church had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten. That's what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten.

But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke. The tree went 'boing!' and the kitten instantly sailed through the air, out of sight.

The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So he prayed, 'Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,' and went on about his business.

A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. This woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, 'Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?'

She replied, You won't believe this,' and then told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, 'Well, if God gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it.'

She told the pastor, 'I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her.'

Linda, I use the recipe from my Bible of Cooking, THE JOY OF COOKING cookbook. FABULOUS PIES!!! If you want I can post it...

Well, it is official!! I am officially a wreck about this art show! I've talked to my frame guy, he's got 4 frames to make. One he is doing as we speak. Today I have to go to the tent rental place and see my tent set up, come up with how I am going to hang my art in it, which I think I know how, but won't know til I see it. I have 2 "parties" I have to attend at nite, during the weekend of the show. Don't have a clue as to what to wear. Everyone says I should just be ME and wear my Levi's and a dive shirt. That's all I ever wear, so I guess I should be me...Oh, and I could go on & on with things that need to be done!!! My kids are helping me TREMENDOUSLY!!!! Kayla even took today off. Rafe got out of school early and he's cleaning my kitchen right now. SO, I should just calm down. Or take some MEDS!! Dang, I can ramble!!!! Sorry!!

The parties will be fun no matter what you wear. Be comfortable and don't hurt your tummy. I like your tie-dye shirt with the seahorse on it. It's got lots of pretty colors. Besides there are free drinks and food.

PS.....Be yourself...most folks can spot a pretender pretty quick if it doesn't say formal or whatever required. The more comfortable you are the better impression you will make.

I can just imagine a video game of my cold war experiences, spends hours in a dirty, crowded, confined people tank watching some gauge, making sure it does not move, once an hour or so move it back, knowing that if you do not, in several more hours something bad may or may not occur, depends on which gauge you are watching today. PS...Beaker is still in his box (carrier). He was out for a little bit last night, but we are supposed to keep him at 85 degrees so we had to put him back in. He seems to be hanging in there. He is eating, but is still weak. The color of his eyes is still off, but I am hopeful as he is grumpy when we change his paper. Thanks for asking!

It's chilly here today and little Rita has been shivering so bad!! I took a sock of G's and cut it just right to make a little sweater for her. She seems happy. Mom called and said that she "made all of my Barbie clothes, she should be able to make sweaters for the little girls!!!" I can't wait to see what she makes...TOO FUNNY!!! Now Rita won't wear anything embarrassing, so there better be no lace and bows!!!LOL

Jerry...Beaker is severely anemic and is experiencing liver problems. We almost lost him on Monday. The vet says if we can get him through this week, that will be good as he is not producing much red blood cells. They reproduce them about 7-10 days. We are hoping that he will start producing them soon. For now, he is in a heated carrier (as he was very cold from this) and is eating a lot of iron rich food. We have our fingers crossed. Me especially as this will be VERY hard on Wes if Beaker does not make it. That is his buddy.

I know the bond that one can have with a bird. I have had Nicky for 20 years, he's nuts, but I love him. I will send Beaker the very best vibes I can muster up.

Please keep us up to date on him.

Tom, The rice is "Fiery Fiesta" ~ 0 sodium, so served it up to Gregg, still not kick ass enough for him, back to drawing board on making my own again with la te da blah brown rice. He may have to just forget about good tasting rice that is healthy and stick with potatoes. I am tiring of this try this and that. The tuna steaks and zucchini were delish though and that's all I eat anyway.

Hi Debbie, it's "getting there." I got the OK to ride the stationary bike. Lump still there. I started out at 2 degrees of flexibility in the ankle joint, I'm now at 10...not even half way there..ugh! I have a great PT guy though. He is now using McConnel taping on the tendon to help keep it stress free...and at least I can ride the bike, and do balance exercises on the Wii (with both feet on the board).


I hope your knee holds up on Bonaire...

Hey Tink, got sidetracked here with the phone and some bank acct. balancing that I, ah, forgot to add in the book, oops! Gregg is not too happy with my bookkeeping skills at the moment. But, hey, it was when I was going to all the docs, MRI's and such, ya know how many co-pays that was? O.K, forgot to add a few. Money was there, so all is good?

So, Tink, glad you are "getting there" Will the bump go away in time? Must feel good to be a little more mobile now. I know that feeling of not being able to do what you want with it. Hoping my knee hangs in there on Bonaire too. Cortisone shot is helping it hang in there. Wonder how many bets are out there on if it will make it or not. LOL! Seriously though, will probably do only one dive a day and Gregg & I will be holding hands in and out and my B/C and tank will be in water waiting for me, so might just work!
